So the title is a little misleading (obviously you don't lose a ton of weight solely from quitting drinking) but these people accomplished a lot by quitting drinking, especially for a number of years. A lot of negativity going on. It takes a lot to admit you have a problem and finally give it up. Not everyone can grasp the concept of moderation and quitting is the only way
Alcohol got a lot of calories,so it's very possible to lose quite a lot of weight after you stopped drinking.Bottle of martini got 1000 calories in it so do your maths people😉
True, if you are a very heavy drinker you will lose weight. A lot of these pictures show people who did both, quit and changed their lifestyle. But they accomplished a lot regardless
Most alcoholics I know are stick thin because they don't eat.
Clearly these individuals made more life changes than quitting drinking. Rather than nitpicking on the title of this series of photos, I applaud their sobriety led to a much healthier and clearly happier lifestyle. Congrats on their hard earned results.
I been sober since 2010. Have to be kind of naive if you can't have fun without alcohol. Very bad substance and I know what I'm talking about. There's no reason in the whole world to drink. Alcohol doesn't even belong in some cultures.
Alcohol is for people. If you can use it properly, it is not a "very bad substance". I like to have a glass of wine once in a time but I can also have fun without it. It is not alcohol itself that brings people down...
Alcohol is an addictive poison - fact. It’s the same substance you use to fuel your car - fact. First you take a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes you - also fact. Your decision to “enjoy “ a drink isn’t even under your conscious control - fact. Try reading This Naked Mind by Annie Grace formore actual facts and neuroscience
I have currently quit drinking and want to see the effect at 30 days and 90 days, however I don't intend to permanently quit drinking because I do enjoy it both taste and the social aspect. *shrug* to each their own but as long as it's not causing violence, let them drink!
