When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would say ‘an artist’.
Inside my head I would answer, ‘a bear’. For many bears are magical beings. Over the years I have painted many, and continue to do so. These are just a few.

Thank you. The thing is I write, aswell as paint, so do not very often work with other authors. These days I write for other illustrators too as i write faster than I paint.

Bears often either get a bad rap or get ignored when folks think of endangered, iconic animals. Yet many are endangered and they certainly are icons in many cultures. These wonderful pictures soothed that part of me that is still crying from seeing the video of that poor grizzly tortured to death by small-caliber rifle fire a few weeks ago.
So glad that it soothes. I try to paint beauty, but the world can be so dark.

Hey could you make the lady with a speckled bear to raise awareness because they are in danger?
