I think this is a clever idea, if a bit inaccurate in action. For example, Emma Watson - I can accept that the rest of her face looks like that in a slightly grainy gif, but removing the purple-toned lipstick seems to have 'corrected' her lips and the area around them to a violet with blue patches. That's hypothermia...
