“This Is Why Shampoo Has Instructions”: Americans Keep Proving That They Can Be Even Dumber
The creators of the 2006 satirical film "Idiocracy" imagined what the U.S. would look like if the average IQ of the nation fell far below normal levels. The rise of flat-earthers and anti-vaxxers, a pro wrestler for a president, and "Ow, My Balls!" as the most popular TV show of the moment.
In 2006, all this sounded like ridiculous fiction. 20 years later, people are noticing more and more similarities between the film and the current political, social, and cultural situation. A Facebook group "America's Cultural Decline Into Idiocy" has taken it upon itself to point out the idiocy all around in hopes that people will finally wake up and smell the coffee.

It's correct if you're looking up at the stars. Incorrect if you're looking down at the Earth. Star charts have East and West swapped.

Everytime someone says something bad about USA, there's a lot of screaming about "American bashing". Well, guys, I'm Russian. In the past several years everyone and their dog told me I should k i l l myself because of the reasons I can do nothing to change. Hate was (and still is) EVERYWHERE. I am an activist and a LGBTQ+ member, I am hated in my own country (because of that) and in the whole world (because I'm Russian). So, Americans - why don't you just stop your crazy tyrant?.. Why don't you just emigrate? Why don't you just do all those things YOU TOLD RUSSIANS TO DO ALL THOSE YEARS?.. It'a not funny to be hated, is it?.. (Hint: you can't. You can't "just stop it")

I'll be honest, I'm American and the vast majority of other Americans I come in contact with have a great deal of sympathy for the Russian people. I'm sorry you've encountered ignorance and hate, I really am. None of us has any influence over what country we're born into, and depending on the circumstances, only a little influence in who ends up governing us. I hope for better days for each of our countries.
