Recently, my brother in law passed away. I didn't get the chance to meet him beforehand. He died because of covid. I messaged my manager told him about the situation, ask the permission to take a day off on monday (he died on sunday), my manager said no because we are lack of staff to work that day.The one girl (whom day off on monday) refused to change her schedule. Usually there's only two staff on monday, but including me there's 3. But another staff said they need to go back early so i had to show up at work no matter what. I'm a part timer not a full time employee. When i agree to show up at work, the manager put my schedule to a closing shift like everyday. I'm really upset, the fact that i didn't get the chance to comforting myself and my sister after losing a brother i never had. Two days later, the girl(monday day off girl), texting me telling me to come early so she can go back early as she has something to do. I just get mad, i told her " I don't give af whatever you wanted to do later, but if i come i come, if I don't I don't". She seen the message but didn't reply back. AITA for getting upset?
