On World Animals Day, 2010, a sick, exhausted tuxedo kitten ran into my classroom. He was closer to death than to life. Naturally, I did not have the heart to put him back onto the rainy and windy cold street. Instead he was taken to the vet.
I named him Karel. I tried everything to find out where he came from, yet never found his home. He’s been living the good life with me ever since! Since I started practising photography, he’s had his picture taken so many times I published a coffee table book about him. It was enjoyed by his fans all over the world, from sunny California to snowy Norway.
You can read his daily musings on Flickr and Facebook and as you may have guessed he’s got more friends than I do. Well, he’s got whiskers and very cute little toes. It was to be expected.
