9-Year-Old Thinks She’ll Never Be A Baker Now Since She Failed Once But The Internet Posts Many Examples Of Their Failures
Baking is hard, especially if you’re trying out a new recipe. Bestselling author Shannon Hale shared how her 9-year-old daughter started crying when she tried baking something new and messed up. The girl thought that this meant that she can no longer be a baker.
So Shannon turned to Twitter and asked bakers to share the times that they messed up to make her daughter feel better. The response was massive!
Shannon’s thread got over 10.9k likes. And one of the people who answered was none other than scientist and father of the Xbox Seamus Blackley who had previously baked a loaf of bread with 4.5k-year-old yeast. He admitted that he screws up continuously.

It doesn’t matter what field you are in, how old you are or how long you have been doing it, everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes the mistakes are small, sometimes they are huge, but just remember this, civilization is built on failures. How else do we learn to succeed?
I'll always remember my Mum making avocado mousse for a fancy dinner party (it was the 80s!). She miss-read teaspoon of gelatine as a tablespoon and we ended up with avocado jelly! Oh, and she's a food tech teacher!
My sister made gravy once but didn't realise that tsp is a teaspoon and not a tablespoon. Chuck of gravy anyone?
Load More Replies...I can't bake worth a darn. Every cookie I make comes out flat. Every biscuit I make doesn't rise. The only time I can bake anything decent is if it comes in mix form and I just have to add one or two ingredients for it to work. Otherwise...I'm useless at baking. One fail does not ruin your career as a baker. My mother is a wonderful cook. I asked her how she got so good. She said "Your father ate a lot of mistakes before I got it right." And my dad nodded. Everything takes practice. You'll get there. Hopefully I will too one day. Good Luck!!
Those pre-mix packets are a lifesaver and thw only thing that works for me. I also connot bake but my Mom and her sister and really good. Embarassing.
