The floppy disk one annoyed me, First, they existed since the 1960s. Second, only the much later 3.5 inch ones, and indeed only the later versions of those, could be formatted to hold 1.4Mb. The Original IBM PC introduced in 1981 that lead to them becoming the 1980s standard(s) used 5.25in floppy disks with just 160Kb capacity. (320Kb ones were available but not standard). Yes, I was actually using them that long ago.
HD (1.44MB MFM-formatt) floppy disks didn't come out until 1987. Acorn managed to squeeze 1.6MB out it in their later model Archimedes series.

She went into Marks and Spencers and asked for a fånny pack. The staff stared at her with a cross between confusion and horror. In case you don’t know, in the UK the word ‘fånny’ is used to mean vülva/vågina. All I can think is they thought it was a weird name for sanitary pads.
low-rise jeans were popular long before the '90s and '00s. we wore them when i was in high school in the '70s. they were called peanuts.
The mullet was NEVER popular in any decade, in any context. It has always been a point of mockery, and should remain so until we have evolved to the point of being hairless, grey-skinned monstrosities.
It was popular in the 80s and 90s. Most guys I knew back then had mullets. Movie and TV stars had mullets. You just seem to have a real hate for the style 😅
Load More Replies...Several of these, like the haircuts and home decor ones, are USA specific.
I do remember a couple of people getting bits of glass brick walls put in (UK), although I did have to think hard. And voluminous hair was definitely the look in the UK. Even young men were backcombing and spraying half a ton of hairspray on. No wonder there was a huge hole in the ozone layer.
Load More Replies...The glass block thing is definitely not a UK 1980s thing, there was however a lot of floral wallpaper!
Yes, but it wasn't introduced by Microsoft, so the statement is false.
