Have you ever wanted to live in a different era? Like the ’80s or ’70s? Do any of the older years inspire your style or music taste? Well, the ’70s surely inspire Rose Van Rijn.

Rose found an ABBA CD 5 years ago and decided she was going to completely change her style. She cut her hair, bought a new wardrobe, and now looks like she took a portal from 1970 to 2021. She started publishing videos on TikTok and many of them went viral. Lots of people compare her to Princess Diana. Rose even gave a tutorial on how to look like her. Rose isn’t afraid to be herself and dress the way she wants to instead of what’s trending and ‘in’ right now.

Rose told Bored Panda: “It all started when I found an old ABBA cd about 5 years ago. I fell in love with their music and I discovered more bands from the ’70s, like the Bee Gees, as well as Olivia Newton-John. When I saw how they dressed and did their hair, I knew I wanted to look like that every single day and so I did.”

I am a Brazilian digital artist who loves transforming imagination into hyper-real visuals. I work with artificial intelligence and image editing to create what I always wondered as a child: how would our favorite characters look in real life? Over time, many of my artworks have gone viral and were featured in international publications. I have recreated realistic versions of cartoon characters such as Disney and The Simpsons, imagined how celebrities who died young would look today, and even gave modern faces to historical figures like Mona Lisa or Shakespeare. Beyond entertainment, I created Para Não Esquecer, a social project that revisits memorable criminal cases in Brazil. My goal is to honor victims, keep memory alive and remind society that justice and empathy matter. I also write for Bored Panda, where I create articles featuring artists, photographers, rescue stories and feel-good moments from around the world. My work aims to highlight creativity, kindness and emotional storytelling. In everything I do, my purpose is the same: to touch hearts, evoke emotion and make people feel something real.

I follow her on Tiktok & IG, she has a chronic disease that causes her to be bed bound a lot of the time & indoors so I have a lot of admiration for her as you wouldn't know to look at her as she's always smiling & making nice content. I don't think she looks like Diana either or Agnetha from ABBA who a lot of people compare her too, i think it's the hair that is almost identical that gives the illusion. She does tend to do the Agnetha open mouth smile or laugh i've seen in a lot of ABBA videos/pics in a bid to look more like her but their faces are totally different. I think she looks like Sophie Turner (Sansa Game of Thrones) when her hair is longer.

Having lived through the 70s and had to deal with the time consuming hairdos and awful clothing, I really can't see why anyone would want to recreate it. It was an awful, tacky, tasteless era.

I am 'from the 70s' and she has absolutely nailed the look. The filtered sunlight look (it wasn't a look we were trying for in the 70s, it was just the quality of instamatic camera available), the hairstyles, the clothes! God, crocheted tanktops! As others have said, she looks absolutely nothing like Diana, it's more that she nailed the hair (and Diana was 80s not 70s anyway), but I give her full points for look-accuracy; she could have stepped out of 1976.

She's looking as close to Princess Diana as a Tyrannosaurus Rex to a Brontosaurus. But for tiktok that's close enough to be a clone.

I think when she wears her hair shorter she definitely has a Diana vibe, looking like someone doesn't mean looking like you're identical twins, just means having the same vibe... she's white, blue eyes, small nose, delicate features, blonde short hair, wearing clothes that look closer to Diana's era than to her own... she's a bit of a Diana look alike, it's not that deep.
