Don’t freak out if you see a friend upload a photo of him-(or her-!) self with a massive beard, which, at a second glance, looks oddly similar to a cat. This is all a part of a new photo trend – a meme that’s called ‘cat beards’ or ‘cat-bearding’. The trick is to have your feline friend in front and covering half of your face – and when the cat looks up, it’s chin and neck looks like a massive beard on your face.

Scottish photographer George Logan and retoucher Tony Swinney let’s you imagine what it would be like if your cat wasn’t just a purring ball of fur. As a part of “Big Cat, Small Cat” ad campaign for Whiskas, they created a series of funny images showing tiny domestic cats chasing after antelopes, zebras, elephants and doing other “big cat” stuff.

Architecture firm Because We Can, led by interior designer Jillian Northrup and her husband architect Jeffrey McGrew, had to turn an under utilized room in a private residence into a highly functional and inspirational place to work from home. Besides turning the room into a splendid mad science lair, they also made what Northrup calls “the fist step to greater cat mobility throughout the room”. The Cat Tube stretches around the room and gives the cat access to the top of the armoire. There’s even a couple of small windows that let you see where your cat is going. Just take my money already!

That’s what happened to a New Zealand author Burton Silver and illustrator Heather Busch, after the release of their comedy book “Why Paint Cats: The Ethics of Feline Aesthetics”, a collection of bizarrely colored portraits of cats.

These wonderful photos were taken in 1961 by Ralph Crane documenting “Black Cat Auditions in Hollywood.” A shot of Vincent Price suggests that this audition must have been for Tales of Terror (1962) by Roger Corman.

Paul Lung, a Hong Kong based graphic designer doesn’t even use an eraser – all he needs is a 0.5 mm technical pencil, A2 paper and some time..Well, about 60 hours. The artist even has to document his work process in order to prove that his works are actually drawn.
