Cinemagraph is a term coined by American photographers Kevin Burg and Jamie Beck, who used the term to describe their work for fashion brands in 2011. A cinemagraph is a cross between a still-image photograph and a piece of moving image work — the looping piece of moving imagery often invokes a double-take moment from its viewers, who might not spot the motion in their initial glance at it.
