@KK sorry but no. Hermaphroditic people who's doctors and family had to choose between boy or girl and got the choice wrong are Transgender. End of story. It is scientific fact. And other argument is an emotional one and I don't play that nonsense. Drop mic...exist

I honestly can't believe it. I went on this comment section yesterday, and no one else had commented yet. I come down today, and it's just a mjnefield of rudeness and hate. Everyone should be free to be who they are inside! Stop exploding at every little thing that doesn't fit into your narrow view of the world!

I'm really disappointed by a part of the bored panda community... Aren't we supposed to be tolerant and appreciate all the effort people make to be confortable with themselves and make the one who suffer confortable with themselves? But no, let's have a vision of the world where every difference must be hidden in order to make tiny mind people confortable. I guess some people just forgot the part where we are suppose to love each others and support each others and just rather being the one that throw stones...

Gender is a social construct. Feminity and masculinity are concepts invented by society and are still used to oppress women, to keep them in their place. If gender stereotypes didn't exist there would be no need to identify as transgender or non binary, or fit into any other box. In fact, transgenderism reinforces strict gender roles as seen in the characters above. There is little to no evidence to suggest that there is a biological correlation between sex and gender.

Jesse please note that the mental illness argument is often used to exclude transpeople from the necessary care they need. In the end it doesn't really matter what it is. From a practical standpoint living as the wished gender and getting necessary medical help reliefs transpeople from a lot of the suffering and burden. Depressions/suicide rates drop dramatically.

Can we stop glorifying transphoby by calling trans people mentals? Please? Don't you realize you're insulting them? hurting them? Don't you realize that this is not a "glorification" of transgender but a glorification of loving yourself the way you are? Why should it bother you that people accept themselves and are happy about it? Beside, If it was a mental illness then what? wanting to hide them in a box would be terribly validist don't you think? Should we have to hide austits, people having Down syndrom, blind people , schizophrenics,.... for your confort?

Well if anyone forced something on anyone, I think it' transfobics, homophobics, psychophobics or validists that want to hide anyone who is different from them right in a little box, so that they pretend they do not exist. People are not "force feeding" their difference, they just refuse to get locked away from the society anymore. If it' help people to assume themselves to see pictures of people sharing their difference, or disney characters looking like them why should it bother you? Don't you like people being happy or confortable with themselves?

The problem is simple. Nobody is "force feeding" that, it's just that transgender are living a hell because a lot of people in society treat them like they are either mentally ill, or see them as sub-humans. In both case this is not ok. They are just... people, period ! So it's important not to brush the problem under the doormat, but make it loud and clear that it IS ok. Like you said yourself, "if someone is or wants to be, let them be". Unfortunately, it' not like that for everyone.
