I Show What Disney Characters Would Look Like As Transgender, Because They Are Equally Great
I'm an Art Director in NYC, and like millions of you I grew up watching Disney movies. I love them and always will as they talk about love, freedom, and transformation.
Growing up, I realized that they don't include a very important category: transgender people. People who more than anyone else know the meaning of and seek for that love, freedom and transformation portrayed by Disney.
So I asked myself: What if the most famous movies were to be told as a transgender story? What if they could use their power and following to help tear down the stigmas and taboos about the LGBTQ community?
I'm using all I employ at my job every day - Photoshop and a design tablet - to (hopefully) allow for this happen. Or at least break the tip of the iceberg.

Exactly what I thought ... Plus the original story 'the little mermaid' is from a danish writer so the american eagle is even more condusing to me...
Load More Replies...1. would his name be eric? 2. arel or eric is from atlantice not america. 3. would prince eric become prinsess erica or ariel
I feel like he would be gay. Also like 2,000 other people. Look up boy little mermaid
sm ppl are here only to make jokes about this post....its f**kin great...n if u think you can do a better job than this artist go off and post a better one and ill comment on that one
I like this one better than the ORIGINAL Aladdin actually! And yes, ALLY AND JASMINE ALL THE WAY!
its actually a broadway tradition. that's why you won't see neil patrick harris playing him.
Load More Replies...I’ve done this before (tho belle came out very different than here)
im kind of against this one because this is based off of peoples religion and you changed it
Hercules in the movie is nowhere CLOSE To accurate as the true religion. This, as well as the fact that it’s rare for people to practice the greek religion in modern times, makes this not harmful to anyone :) have a great day!
Load More Replies...I think these are based on trumps military ban
Load More Replies...Ohhhhh... didn't understand until after I posted my comment xP
Load More Replies...It's awesome how she has a normal nose now, after stopping lying about who she was.
exactly what I was thinking about ALL of these.
Load More Replies...there was a part of the movie where he cosplayed as a girl though... tumblr_n24...4beef8.gif
Yes, this is stereotypical, but I like this color anyway
It really does, the artist hasnt changed the hands or body at all :/
Load More Replies...To whichever selfclaimed artist: Please just put more than 2 minutes of effort into your pics. Look to deviantart artists if you must, there are plent of TG sequences! Some are good, some are bad, but rarely this lazy made. And I take bad over lazy, because atleast they tried.
To those saying this is hust a guy in make up. That is everything wrong with the current perception of trans folk. Many transpeople simply don't have the privilege of passing. Yet in truth they are transgender also, and deserve the same respect. Transitioning isn't a magical body altering process, and the surgery needed to change ones body is expensive. For many trans folk this is their reality, looking like a woman in pants or looking like a man in a dress.
You forgot to change the body... but hey, I am not hating! I love these drawings, my favorite is pinocheo! ( I don't think I spelled that right)
Honestly, not impressed with the "change". I'm not sure that cutting their hair, or giving them long hair and eyeliner represents "trans". Most trans folk I've seen before and after pictures of are actually very different looking from their "original" selves and it's very clear from the changes effected that they clearly were whatever gender they thought they were... you only have to look on here for before an after pictures to see it. Their faces change, their eyes change, they were CLEARLY in bodies that had somehow not had in the right hormones/dna kick in in utero.
I only ageee with paranoidandroid on one thing: psuedo science really needs to go. Anyone's body will change under hormone treatment. It has nothing to do with having 'the right' hormones or dna kick (wtf) in utero. If we truly want to understand the origin of transgender people, and the science behind it, we need to let go of superstitious notions that they are somehow less validated if it turns out to be some chemical imbalance or due to hormones in our food and drinking water. Not saying that is how it is, but you have to be open to options and still accept them for who they are regardless of the outcome! Science does not function when people get in the way with their butt hurt. From both sides.
Load More Replies...Why is it so taboo to state that a trans person suffers from mental illness? The Mayo Clinic defines mental illness as such: "Mental illness refers to a wide range of mental health conditions — disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior." I don't have a single negative feeling toward the trans community, but these people clearly suffer from mental illness. Just because it isn't a dangerous one (such as the sociopath), doesn't change the correlation. Can we stop glorifying mental illness? Please?
Sociopathy isn't per definition dangerous. I don't often say this but please stop with the arm chair psychology.
Load More Replies...please stop this transgender madness! If someone is or wants to be, let them be. Don't force feed everybody on the planet. It's too much
This has become too much. I support everyone's right to be whom they are, but we don't need you to ruin things like childhood cartoons.
I'm sorry and I don't mean to come off as rude or all-knowing, but aren't these just genderbends? They've been done many times before, even prior to the LGBT+ spectrum becoming more mainstream. Genderbends are fun and just fine to do. I thought transgender was more than physical appearance? I am not trans and don't claim to be, but I thought gender was more a state of identity than just appearance. If somebody identifies as something else, it's not always immediately apparent until they present as that gender. That's because it's an identity. I may be a music lover, but I don't always wear band t-shirts and sing songs. I'm pretty sure that these here are just another series of Disney genderbends. Once again, that's fine, but I'm not quite sure if it fully shows the mental parts of being trans or any non-binary identity.
Stop turning everything into something Gay Transgender etc just stop
Okay, sorry but this is just lazy. Hardly anything is changed in these.. or is that the point? They should be drawn from scratch, not this laziness.
Damn millennial ruin everything. It started with the avocado toast and now this. Lol
