Some people say exactly what’s on their mind. Others would rather keep things polite and deal with it quietly later. And then there are those moments where you’re not even sure what the “right” response is supposed to be.
This quiz throws you into a bunch of everyday situations – awkward plans, group chats, family dropping by, work stuff – the little moments where boundaries actually show up. Just choose the option that feels closest to what you’d probably do.
By the end, we’ll sort you into a boundary style. No style is better than another – everyone just handles things a little differently.
So, how do you set boundaries?

Oh dear. Gave up at Q3. Don't care about lawnmowers at 7 as am getting ready to walk the dogs at that time. Coffee shop? Don't care if someone sits next to me so long as they don't steal my chocolate fudge brownie.
I feel the same but did it and I got Silent Setter and I bet that's what youd get too! Essentially I dont care about too much but when I do you'll know even if I dont say a word. We chill and move our chess peices in silence while watching the board. All true for me?!
Load More Replies...Ikr lol I had to put that one cos it’s the only one I’ve actually seen, n I gave up at season 4 😂the rest are shite as never appealed to me meh
Load More Replies...I am, The Silent Setter Economy of words, economy of motion - that’s your style. You prefer actions over explanations, moving chess pieces silently until the board suits you. Notes, quick emails, subtle gestures - your boundaries are firm even when your volume is low. While mystery can command respect, clarity prevents confusion. Offering a brief headline when you adjust the fence can keep neighbors friendly and surprises minimal. I am Finnish, be quiet, mind your own business, give space and use fewer words is a stereotype but there is quite a bit of truth to it.
The straight talker lmao yup that’s me, but there was NONE on the tv re runs I would re watch lol I put lost cos I’ve seen it to season 4 n got so lost in it I quit they all shite 🤷♀️n tbh id never be in any situation but i do tell it it like it is ,so picked the one most likely to be my way ,!!
"The Peacekeeper - Harmony is your favorite ringtone. You balance empathy with tact, sliding gentle guidelines into conversation like a skilled diplomat. People flock to you because you make space for every voice - sometimes at the cost of your own energy. Boundaries happen, but they wear comfy slippers instead of combat boots. A little extra firmness now and then will help you protect that big open heart." -- Ironically, my online persona/character Lakota's last name is Sheean, which means "peaceful one" in Gaelic. So, definitely fits XD
The Lone Wolf: But so many things just don't apply. What neighbour? No family to turn up unannounced or post personal photos. I'm not in a group chat and my phone is always in DND mode. Living in France, I've only had one local in twenty four years say my name correctly. And if a cow-orker started stealing my lunch, they would experience my tolerance for chili. Did that once, in an egg mayo sandwich, it worked. Comfort TV? "My So-Called Life" or "Daria" depending on mood.
Surprisingly accurate: The Straight Talker You build boundaries with the accuracy of a surveyor and the confidence of a town crier. Direct language and quick delivery mean people rarely misread your intent. You value clarity over comfort and believe honest words save everyone time. While your candor can feel intense, most folks appreciate not having to decode hidden messages. Just remember a dash of softness turns strong fences into welcoming gates.
What I got. In my trade it's expected to be brief, correct, and on point. If you're not correct someone will address that quickly, which is a good thing.
Load More Replies...couldn't finish this one. too many of the questions didn't offer the option of what i would actually do in those situations. oh well...
Someone mows the lawn at 7am? Don't care, but that was not an option. Someone steals my lunch at work? Ghost pepper lunch=they get burnt tongue and, later, firehole, they learn not to steal my lunch. And if someone talks over me continuously during meetings, I stop the meeting take them outside, remind them of not to interrupt while others are talking. I have no knowledge on how to fix printers at all, that question was stupid.
Numbers 1234 to 1262 in a seemingly infinite list of "questions I simply cannot answer". In the few scenarios I could actually imagine myself being in there is not suitable answer available. I mean, like the inbox one? No, it could not happen. And the uninvited family to dinner - where's the "Embrace the opportunity to show off your culinary expertise" option?
I was disappointed "swear, roll over and try to get back to sleep" wasn't an option.
Load More Replies...The Chill One You’re the hammock in the backyard of life, swaying with a shrug and a smile. Flexibility is your trademark; rare is the situation that rattles you. Boundaries exist, but they’re painted in pastel and probably come with snacks. Your laid-back vibe is a gift - just be sure relaxation doesn’t tip into resignation. A well-placed sign or two ensures your calm remains genuine, not passive.
21 doesn't have the right choice. Learned this from GF, is this solution or sympathy? Helps a ton. 23 for some reason in that situation, I'm always picked by the others to lead.
"1. Your neighbor starts mowing the lawn at 7 AM on Saturday. What do you do?" Uh, sleep? Yeah, didn't make it past the first one.
This just had me remembering (bc no one seems to think its their place to do anything) I have a co worker. Hes in his late 50s, is very small in stature, gay and has tourettes. Very sweet, timid but unique guy. Hes come to work so many times, to the point of tears bc 2 men in his neighborhood are so mean to him about cutting his grass. Name calling, intimidation, threats. He lives with his elderly mother and works so he has to get it done early (like 9) they bully him. He started going home at night and doing it instead hoping to avoid them but they did it again saying they were gonna call the humane service for his dog (his pride and joy) bc he did it at night, knowing full well that would send him into a spiral. These are the people that care. Fkn bullies
Load More Replies...#4 was too tough to choose. Every cartoon is nostalgic to me. I got The Straight Talker. I'm not sure if I'm understanding their definition, but it doesn't sound accurate. Everyone likes to bulldoze my boundaries, and shuts me down when I try to put them back up. I get in trouble at work for putting up boundaries and reminding people to respect me. I speak way nicer to my coworkers than the managers.
I got that n it’s spot on lol I tell it as it is, everyone knows where they stand then !
