Meet Jimmy the cat who always loved to go outdoors for adventures but would always come back to his owners – until one day, to the heartbreak of his humans, he just didn’t shop. “He used to go in and out every day but always came back, except that one night,” Sue Zelitsky, Jimmy’s mom, told The Dodo.Every day, the Zelitsky family were frantically looking for their cat – but with no avail. Days were passing by, and they completely lost their hope to see their beloved 13-year-old feline Jimmy again.
2,5 years later, Zelitsky saw a West Milford Animal Shelter’s Facebook post with a picture of a stray cat who had been pulled off streets… and he looked just like Jimmy! “He was found approximately 10 miles from our home after the big March blizzard and brought in to the [shelter],” Zelitsky said. “After some sharing of pictures and other physical attributes I went to see him.”
“As soon as we opened the cage I asked him, ‘Jim, is that you bud?’ And he walked over and head-butted me and I just starting crying,” Zelitsky said.
Yes, it was Jimmy! “We are over the moon,” Zelitsky said. “It’s the greatest story ever and almost too good to be true … but it is!”

This happens way too much. If you have an outdoor cat, please chip him/her. Or put on a collar that has your adress on it, or tattoo their ears... Anything that can identify your cat.
Microchipping helped save my cat's life (literally). It is extremely important and worth the $25-$50 (price is less if you get it done when you are already at the vet).

I have to agree it is worth it, the heart ache of losing ones pet is terrrible but what a great ending happy for you
