Pamela went under the knife in Turkey on July 4.
A day before her operation, she revealed via an Instagram post that she almost did not get on the plane due to several anxieties about what was to come.
Her next post came a day after her procedure, on July 5.
In it, she shared close-up photos of how her face looked shortly after the surgery.
While Pamela shared several other posts in the following days, her most striking upload came on July 26, when she shared “five things to be prepared for” after getting a facelift.
Her first caution was that patients have to rub antibiotics on their staples themselves.
The second was “waking up to a tube in your forehead” and being awake for the removal process.
The third was not being able to wear contacts or have glasses that touched her ears, while the fourth was feeling as if they had been removed and replaced with “Dumbo’s” ears.
Finally, the fifth was to be prepared for lasting swelling, even weeks into the recovery process.
Netizens reached out to share how her openness had impacted them
“Women and some men as well have thanked me for being so transparent about the process, saying it has given them the courage to move forward with their decisions,” Pamela said in an August 4 interview with People.
“I’ve also received several messages from people in the hospital or who were recently recovering, thanking me and even saying that my posts were what helped them through the difficult first days of recovery,” she added.
“I had no idea the content would be so warmly received.”
She additionally shared that she decided to share her journey online after failing to find a patient’s account of the procedure while researching it.

Dressed in a black tank top and jeans, Pamela smiled broadly for the camera in pictures shared on August 4.
She made sure to pose from different angles to show that her swelling and scarring had fully subsided.
The only mark of her surgery was mild swelling under her chin.
In a caption dedicated to the same, she quipped, “Go away.”
Pamela also discussed her satisfaction with the result in her conversation with People.

She said that while she feels she looks like her older self when she glances in the mirror, looking at a before-and-after picture gives her clarity and makes her realize she looks “so young” now.
“I’m so happy I went through with it,” she said.
Not every surgery has a happy ending, with some patients going viral for all the wrong reasons
An unidentified woman made headlines in March after a Turkish doctor named Yunus Sağlam shared her before-and-after surgery pictures.
He revealed that she received a temporal lift and midface lift, showing how her face looked a month after her procedure.
Netizens, displeased with the outcome, compared her post-op appearance to a mean-spirited character created by Dr. Seuss, while some also mocked the doctor’s skills.
“It’s giving Grinch lift,” one said.
“If this is the good work he wants to show off, imagine the stuff he is less proud of,” remarked another.
Several others noted that looking age-appropriate needs to come back in trend, with one writing, “It’s normal to look normal.”
A separate user, meanwhile, confessed they were too scared to get the surgery they had been considering for years after seeing her results.
“I’ll keep my hooded eyelids rather than risk ending up like that,” they said.
