I’ve Made Some Whimsical Winter Scenes From Old Snow Shovels

I’ve been working with old rusty tools for a couple of years now and love giving these discarded items a new life.

I use a plasma torch and hand cut custom designs into old tools. Some items will have other parts welded on as well.

Most of my work involves saws, but I also work with shovels, rakes, masonry trowels – and well, pretty much anything else metal that I can find at a yard sale!

Here’s a closer look that shows how little snowbabies are “made” – I hope it’s not too graphic!

A detailed shot of two players. I used a Craftsman saw medallion as the football, staples as part of the helmets and again, wires for the arms

    The tree swing

Not many people notice the squirrels right away, but this is one of my favorite designs!

If I could make something close to being half as good as that, I would - oh wait I can’t make anything half as good as that.

These are great, a mix different approaches, some simple and others intricate with work both styles work brilliantly. Well done, love them! Have you tried any other mediums, bin lids would work really well too I think even old metal barrels or large old petrol cans could become almost 3D! :)

I love them all! But 'The tree swing' and 'Christmas at the ranch' are the best in my opinion! Oh and 'How snow babies are made'! I would have never thought of this! Amazing idea and very well executed!

I love looking at them, but I'd be terrified my kids would cut themselves on them.
