Somewhere in Internet I read about a story, about a American-foot-ball-player, he asked in class why they needed to know [some mathstuff], and teacher asked if they benched weights as a training, of course they did, and teacher asked, why - do you lift weights on the field? We do this to train your brain!

well mybe cut the umbilical cord before they get married at least? 😅

Cute, but there good reasons for minimizing how much kids are allowed to co-sleep in the parental bed; especially infants. (Yes, many families co-sleep with their babies without experiencing the potential tragic outcomes. Many people also survive car accidents despite not wearing seatbelts; but your odds are better if you follow the proven safety protocol.) For older kids, it's more about them learning to successfully sleep independently; but of course that doesn't mean that you should never allow a scared child to crawl in.

I understand the cute comparison! But I cannot imagine walking in *front* of the kids like this, while trusting them to safely toddle along behind.

Sadly, the analogy doesn't quite hold; unlike the cat, the child will never be completely unimpacted by the harsh lecture. It probably won't have precisely the effect that the adult intends, but it will still impact that child's brain and emotional development.

This is what giving gifts means for me: putting a lot of thought and love into what I give someone. But several of the people I'd normally like to give gifts to (parents, sister, a friend) are all so into "decluttering" that they don't *want* anything I can make or afford to buy for them. And unwrapping a gift card just seems so cold to me!
