My husband gets really annoyed whenever things don't go his way. He shouts and throws things. He doesn't understand after when I tell him he should apologise because it is ok to be annoyed but not to act angry with those around him.

Break up with him. Keep yourself safe, this is abuse. If you want to, get couples therapy, but you are being abused, even if you don't get physically hurt.

If he shouts and throws things, and this is reoccurring, then sit down and talk with him and maybe consider couples therapy?

NOT couples therapy. If the husband is doing those things and OP did nothing wrong, then husband is the one who should change, and he should get therapy.
