We Stayed At The Nakagin Capsule Tower In Tokyo, Japan, But Actually Didn’t
My girlfriend and I visited the Nakagin Capsule Tower in the spring. Designed by Kisho Kurokawa, the modernist building was a shining beacon to the future in 1972, but it’s now slated to be demolished. We planned to stay there, but found the whole place much more dilapidated than expected and ended up at a hotel. This is our story and these are our thoughts on how this very special place ended up like it did and how it’s still special anyway.
