We’re “Kilig,” a group of university students making illustrations of the many versions of a Filipino dessert called Halo-halo.

Halo-halo is a shaved ice dessert with milk and multiple toppings. The Philippines is composed of a lot of different islands, and so produce differs from one area to another; Halo-halo toppings differ for each city too!

La Union’s version is served in a coconut shell.

Tuguegarao’s version is topped with a rice cake.

Durian is one of Davao’s most popular fruit exports, so it makes sense that it’s featured in their Halo-halo, too!

Fresh fruits and strawberry ice cream are the stars in Zamboanga’s Halo-halo!
