About a month ago I wrote here on Bored Panda that I had started my personal challenge for painting 12 beautiful landscapes for my watercolor picture calendar. And finally, the landscape paintings are ready! And yes, it wasn't so easy as it seems. But sometimes we have to get out of the comfort zone to improve our skills!
I made one more conclusion based on this watercolor paintings' challenge: if you really like something and want to bring your creative ideas to life, you will do it. You will find the time, strength, energy, and opportunities, even if it seems impossible!
Best wishes for the upcoming New Year!

What a beautiful talented artist you are, these paintings fill me with wanderlust!
Thanks a lot for your comment! :) That's great! I have been to several places from this calendar and they are really impressive :)
Load More Replies...Wow, so you fulfilled the "CHALLENGE" to complete the 12 watercolors in roughly 1 to 2 MONTHS! Pretty AMAZING, Congratulations, again!
BEAUTIFUL! Gorgeous winter scenes, CONGRATULATIONS! I presume that getting the 12 paintings DONE was the challenge... that is, a challenge for an artist ALREADY FAMILIAR with watercolor, right?... and not for someone who hasn't used watercolor medium before.
Thanks a lot, Gabi! As you rightly noticed, it was a challenge even for me, and I'm familiar with watercolor. Considering that I work on an regular basis 5 days a week... Yes, it was a real challenge!))

Your use of white space is perfect and suits the winter landscape so well. I also really love your ability to show the soft warm glow of streetlights. This is definitely my favorite!
Hallstadt, Austria
Bagan, Myanmar
Kirkjufell Mountain, Iceland
Castle Combe, England
This one really has a different look and feel to it compared to your others. The harder edges and sharp contrasts work so well with this street scene. I love it!
Tallinn, Estonia
Wanaka Lake, New Zealand
Marsaxlokk, Malta
What a lovely place to sit & watch the boats bobbing up and down in the ocean!
San Gimignano, Tuscany, Italy
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Azenhas Do Mar, Portugal
These paintings are stunning! Are you selling copies of the calendar, or is it just for your own personal use? I would LOVE to purchase this calendar!
Thanks a lot :) Yes, I'm going to sell the copies and in the closest time I will add them to my Esty shop :)
Load More Replies...BEAUTIFUL, Ekaterina, Congratulations! I, too, love the snow & winter scenes best. (They're so exciting.) Have you done watercolors for long? Or were you using another medium before this? In any event, I'm sure LOTS of people would buy your calendar!
Gabi, thanks once again! :) We miss snow so much, probably that's why winter landscapes look so snowy and colorful) I have been studying watercolors for about 2 years and a half. I studied drawing with gouache when I went to school, but it was soooo long ago that I remember nothing from that art school. So I can say that I've started studying painting from zero :) I hope your confidence will come true!)))
Load More Replies...Stunning work! I can even 'feel' the wet! Please, do more, much, much, more, and let us see!
Thank you, Pamula! I'll try to paint more and more wet watercolors!)))
Load More Replies...Stupendous work with colors/subjects. Being a palm nut I luv the single palm tree by the sea!
Thanks for your comment :) To tell the truth I like painting palms) I even bought a special brush for them :D
Load More Replies...Congratulations on completing your challenge!! Very inspirational, and what beautiful results.
Not yet :) Just want to have a rest for several days and then I have to start think it over :)
Load More Replies...What a brilliant idea! and your artwork is absolutely wonderful! You've inspired me to try something like this! Well done!
Thanks a lot, Victor! :) That's great if this calendar challenge has inspired you! But I advise you to start doing something like this from the beginning of the year otherwise you will get a very "hot" December ;) I always promise myself to start painting pictures for calendars at least from May... but I can't keep my promise))))
