After finding the strength to go to my schools psych (college, not high school) I was told that my anxiety was normal and I was simply going through a phase since I was so "too open about my feelings" to be clinically depressed. Yet, I've been under it for five years. Sometimes it can be too sporadic for people to understand, that doesn't mean nothing is wrong. Your not the only one out there with that problem, just keep it going one day at a time.

Keep on looking, SvenWofstrom! My depression didn't manifest itself with the usual symptoms--but I finally found a doctor who recognized it and got started with treatment. Keep on looking...please!

Hang on as best you can, there WILL be better times. I've been dealing with depression for 30+ years. Sometimes better, sometimes worse. Hang on.

Don't hide any disorders you think you might have from your doctors... You posting that comment here seems like you are realizing you have some kind of disorder your doctors don't know about.

Depression usually stems from the brain (I'll let you Google it as it's long). However, it is real (I know), and I really hope that you are able to go to different Dr's until you find one who takes you seriously. If you're open to medications, they do wonders -- I'm allergic to most but found one that worked. I know I'm"late to the party", but having been diagnosed as "chronic depressive" at 16 (more than 20 years ago), I sympathize. If you'd like to talk more, this is linked to my Facebook page. yeah but what i hate is that other people treating these people which are shown in the pics above like some kind of unnormal monster or something like that that always makes me wanting to punch some respect and sympathy into them :(

Hey Sven I just wanted to let you know that I received your thank you and your more than welcome! See I told you that you were a nice, generous, caring person otherwise you wouldn’t have thanked me! Haha :D I see some other people have commented about looking for doctors since I was last here. In my opinion I would stay away from drugs and doctors as really all they do is prescribe s**t that is poisonous, costs a lot of money and probably just numbs your senses. There are plenty of natural foods and medicines out there if your looking to change your diet. If you feel like you need to talk to someone to get things off your chest I would recommend a councilor (not a psychiatrist), you can find them locally if you just do a search, often they are found at local universities, schools or community places for free. Otherwise there are also hotlines you can call to have a chat to someone if you have no one else to talk to.

Then stop asking them. You are the one who knows your body best. Look to your negative beliefs and don't be afraid of the answers that lie there. Depression is the result of forcing yourself to be someone who you know in your heart you're not and "fear" is only "false evidence appearing real". I know how it is, I was also "depressed" once but changed my perspective from "depression" to "compression" and used it thus then as a challange for growth instead of a problem to be overcome. There's nothing wrong with depression or with you Sven, millions of people experience it, it is a natural thing and part of life. Diet can make a huge impact on the body and your mood, looking into what your eating and removing as much artificial chemicals as possible helped me a lot. Also just believing in yourself and your dreams, doing what you love and loving yourself, if your anything like me you probably care a lot about other people and go out of your way but don't put in that same effort when it comes to yourself. Take it a step at a time keep working on yourself and keep growing, make changes in your work, study, health, leisure etc. do what you feel is right to you and no one else. It's hard but you can get there it is only temporary! you deserve everything beautiful in this world and you are worthy. There is nothing wrong with you. Depression is an illness not a defect.

What do you mean the doctors haven't been able to find anything wrong with you? If you are depressed, that in itself is what is wrong with you. See a mental health professional.

Sounds like they don't know how to deal with being helpless in the face of a bad situation in a healthy mannor. Sorry you had to deal of with it. :/
