Artist Statement
I love experimentation with new materials. From found objects, various types of unusual paints, neon and metal, they all excite me. Having just had a solo show that highlighted my neon works, I am currently concentrating on my spirit animals and urban sprawl series. in addition, I am currently working on a new library of electronica music.
Biography
Howard Weliver has been interested in the arts his entire life. Graduating from Stephen f. Austin State University in 1992 with a B.F.A. in Advertising Design with a minor in photography, and then a M.A. In Design Communications, he has spent the majority of the last 25 years in Commercial Arts.
Originally from Texas, he discovered Taos, New Mexico after taking a 11 year break from art to start a restaurant/bar branding company (Nosh Creative) while traveling with his wife, Lauren, in their motorhome (Nosh Bus).
Currently he is making the permanent transition from commercial art to fine art. Through this metamorphosis, he has incorporated some of his influences (Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Jean Basquiat and Banksy) into several unique artistic styles.

Fantasy and magic have always ruled over my world, from movies to TV shows, to Video Games to tabletop games like Dungeos and Dragons, I try to find magic in every part of my life. Writing is a big part of me too, I hope to publish a fantasy novel one day. I also enjoy playing guitar and singing, as music always help me to get in a great mood.
I have an adorable German Shepherd named Hela and we get into all kinds of adventures together.
