I've been sexually harassed and touched by women before. The way they play off their behaviour as harmless and fun is disgusting. It wasn't a 00s teen movie. It was my life while I was trying to do my job. I didn't welcome it, nor did I want it. Not feeling able to respond appropriately for fear of making myself seem like the aggressor made me feel powerless and like I had to go along with it. There is plenty of sick stuff men do, and I won't diminish that for a second. But it's not about absolving men, rather that there are plenty of women who need to be more accountable for their actions.

I often answer the door in my long pyjama bottoms and t-shirt. If I'm expecting a delivery though? Just to address that part first, I always put a bra on if I'm expecting a delivery. A few days ago an OVA energy representative came over unexpectedly. I opened the door a little bit, asked to see his ID and then said, "Please wait a minute. I'm still in my pyjamas.". Anyway... Yes I can see how answering the door in lingerie can be viewed as "sexually aggressive". She shouldn't have asked the guy "What do you think of my outfit?"... If we swap the genders? A male answers the door to a female delivery rider in just his tight fitting boxers/underpants asking the same thing? There'd be major upcry and rightly so. So do I believe that she's the "victim" here? No. She shouldn't have listened to her "friends". I feel sorry for the pizza guy. Males can be sexually harassed just as seriously as females.

The impact of trauma, particularly PTSD, has been linked with toxic behavior. The National Center for PTSD describes these as “stress reactions” that may go away over time.
According to Amanda, these behaviors are typically a product of a person’s reaction to feeling emotionally unsafe in relationships. This applies to many trauma survivors, who may or may not meet the criteria for a PTSD diagnosis.

As an example, Amanda used parental abuse, where a person may not feel safe engaging in relationships as an adult. Their subconscious reactions would be to drive the person away and ultimately sabotage the relationship.
“You might initiate conflicts, avoid expressing emotional vulnerability, tolerate abuse, or end relationships prematurely, to name a few,” she told Bored Panda.

As for female toxic behavior, Amanda attributes it to patriarchal societies like the United States. As she explained, their actions may be a way to keep themselves safe in a relationship.
“For example, a heterosexual woman who experienced intimate partner violence may unknowingly engage in actions that sabotage her relationships with men, or she may cater to men to keep them happy to promote her safety,” she stated, adding that patriarchal societies equally inflict the same harm upon men.

“Instead, I recommend bottom-up therapies that address these impacted areas, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, Animal-Assisted Therapy, and Attachment Therapy.”
Amie also recommends group therapy, as hearing other people’s experiences helps break through isolation. However, it all boils down to finding a trustworthy therapist.
“Someone who offers both compassion for what they've been through and gentle accountability for changing harmful patterns,” she stated.

Yes! Many decades ago, I tried to get into playing it with my then-boyfriend. His college roomie was into Ultimate Frisbee (which is ALSO incredibly hard/intense) and wanted to take up disc golf. My sister will become INFURIATED with me if I don't answer her texts within 20-30 min of her sending them. I live next door to her/my mom and sometimes she will barge into my house yelling "WHY HAVEN'T YOU ANSWERED MY TEXT?" I'll look up from whatever chore I'm doing - vacuuming, washing dishes, scooping litterboxes, etc. or I'll even be outside taking care of my garden - and I literally won't have my phone on me. She cannot fathom that I have the ability to put down my phone and walk away from it for more than a minute XD Especially when I have something I have to do! I've also been elbows-deep in my van's engine before (grease literally up to my shoulders) and she's come over to yell at me for "not picking up my phone". When I first noticed your comment about the story having multiple images on reddit I was almost half way through this thread and was blaming me for not understanding what was going on in the post (Eastern European here and not entirely familiar with Western slang and/or dating customs)... Holy shiz. As someone who watched my mom physically abuse my father for my entire childhood, including cutting his arms and his back with a kitchen knife, I want to actually scream at anyone who says something like "lol give him a stab scar to show ownership!" BP - engagement is down since we started charging people to see the whole article that we stole...Solution - post only part of each item, so in addition to not seeing the whole article, they have to actually click through to a different website for every single part of the page! That'll get them interested again!
