Gota Patti Type (Name of this piece)

Gota Patti or Gota work is a type of Indian embroidery that originated in Rajasthan and now it is among the fading crafts which are being practiced by limited number of people. The key to this craft is it’s intricate details and precision required to make the designs which means long hours of eye-straining work.

This piece was created as part of #IndiaThroughType series aims to create typography pieces out of the unique aspects of India. The motive is to take the practices in India to a global audience in a more engaging way, and on the other hand making Indians experience the potential of design.
