Someone Adapted The Lyrics Of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ Into ‘Coronavirus Rhapsody’ And It’s Hilarious

Just recently, one 17-year-old set up a website to help people wash their hands properly and entertainingly during the coronavirus pandemic. The concept of the website is quite genius, to be honest. In it, you get to type in the artist of your choice and a song title of theirs and the website generates a hand-washing poster for you with the song’s lyrics to wash your hands to. As it later turned out, the most popular song among site visitors was Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody.

Surprisingly or not, soon enough, one comedian on Twitter named Dana Jay Bein shared the lyrics of a slightly altered Bohemian Rhapsody. It was re-named “Coronavirus Rhapsody,” so next time you’re washing your hands, maybe try to sing the lyrics of this “new” hit…?

One of the most popular rock songs of all time—”Bohemian Rhapsody”—was written by Freddie Mercury for Queen’s 1975 album A Night At The Opera. The powerful song was accompanied by a promotional video, which was considered ground-breaking. Rolling Stone once wrote that the band Queen practically invented the music video seven years before MTV went on air.

In the “new” song, Dana Jay Bein used many clever rhymes that seem very appropriate for the time of quarantine. “Landslide” was turned into “lockdown,” “open your eyes”—to “don’t touch your eyes,” and “look up to the skies and see”—to “just hand-sanitize quickly.” For those who’d like to sing according to the re-done lyrics, follow the link to open the karaoke version of Bohemian Rhapsody.
