We Quit Our Jobs And Set Off On A Journey Around The World, Here’s What We Saw Along The Way (30 Pics)
We are Chanel and Stevo, born in South Africa but have been on the road for 7 years now. We love mixing travel and creativity.
Over 7 years ago we quit our jobs and set off on a journey around the world. After selling all of our belongings like cars and furniture, and saving up for a year we jumped on a plane and flew to Europe. We had no idea how long we would be gone for or what exactly we would experience but we counted every single kilometer traveled.
Using Google maps we added it all up, from buses and tuk-tuks to kayaks and walking. We documented it all on our Instagram account. About 4 years ago, we passed the 384 400 km mark which is the distance to the moon, crazy. We created a piece of art to commemorate it, and below is what we saw along the way.

Travel has it's challenges, we have had many sleepless nights, lots of items and horrible hotels but it is all part of the journey. Leaving friends and family is hard too as we only see them when we come back.
Every country has something beautiful but we loved our visit to the top of Norway and to Japan. The culture in Japan is so unique. The desert in Namibia was also a highlight, so much so we had one of our wedding ceremonies there.

We feel that taking a risk to travel will pay off. Getting to see new places and experience new cultures will far out way the fear of leaving. If you're thinking about exploring the world but feel like you can't leave everything behind, just take it one day at a time and try to travel with somebody as it makes it more enjoyable.

Very beautiful, It does make me slightly jealous! To be honest I sometimes find the modern idea of travelling quite stressful, sometimes I think part of my motive to travel comes from the pressure to travel, rather than a genuine desire. I'd love to see some countries but I think living on the breadline around the world would stress me out! I think you do need a good level of confidence and self security to do it, maybe someday I'll get there! :)
