I absolutely love this tradition in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.

Jenkins and Puddicombe is a sheet metal business located in the province’s capital city. Janice Puddicombe is the genius behind their Christmas display. This year shows a group of wee little teeny tiny tin men enjoying some winter activities. For the display, Puddicombe fabricated a ski lift, merry-go-round, hot chocolate stand, and ice rink, all made out of tin.

According to Andrew Hawthorne who interviewed Janice about her displays, “It takes a while to put together, but she likes to have it done before the Santa Claus parade for the people walking by”.

Puddicombe says she was inspired by memories of elaborate window displays in the downtown shops, when she was a little girl.
