My LEGO pop culture parodies usually focus on creating one perfect still image. But for my latest target – *that* viral video by NyanNyanCosplay – I decided some puppetry was required!
This 15 second project actually took about 3 days to put together, since the model needed to not only look accurate from all angles, but required different facial expressions and arms for each of the 10 shots in the original video. I basically had each shot playing on a continual loop on a monitor just off-camera, and repeatedly tried to mimic the action until it was perfectly sync’d. But it ended up on PewDiePie so totally worth the effort!
