Disabled Dog That Was Dumped By Its Heartless Owners Twice In One Day Finds A Forever Home

203

There are far too many heart-shattering videos and pictures of evil (let’s be real) people abandoning their pets. We usually don’t cover these sorrowful stories on Bored Panda unless those furry friends got the happy ending they deserved. Luckily, this story is one of those with the happy endings.

A horrifying video of a disabled dog being abandoned on the side of the road went viral earlier this year, leaving millions in utter anger and disgust. The video was captured in Sao Leopoldo, a city in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. The incident is believed to have taken place half a year ago. The heartbreaking video shows a white car parking alongside a deserted road where a woman is seen getting out of the car and dragging out a white dog that only has three legs. After shoving him violently and heartlessly, the cold-blooded woman drives away. Upon seeing this horrifying footage, millions were left in tears.

The horrifying footage shows a cold-hearted woman abandoning the dog and driving away

Luckily, just a day after the video was posted, people identified the poor three-legged dog in it. As it turned out, the Patas Geurreras animal charity had taken the dog in and renamed him TinTin. Later, people found out that TinTin was actually abandoned twice on the same day. The first time he was dumped, TinTin was brought back home after one woman found him on the street, believing he was lost. But, being absolutely cold-hearted and inhumane, his owner dumped him again.

Millions of people were outraged when the video went viral

Luckily, animal rescuers took in the poor soul named TinTin

After TinTin’s story went viral, dozens of people offered to adopt him

Luckily, someone else found him and took the poor soul to an animal sanctuary. The footage that was later shared on Twitter showed TinTin being cared for by the staff of Patas Guerreras. And it gets even better – in almost no time, the handsome TinTin found new loving owners. The charity that previously took care of TinTin said that he is doing ‘exceptionally well’, given the horrifying circumstances under which he was abandoned. They also noted that the disabled pooch is being showered with love and care by his new owners, just like he deserves.

But animal rescuers were very careful about whom to trust with this loyal dog

Finally, TinTin found new loving owners

To everyone’s relief, police officers managed to track down Tintin’s previous owners. They admitted that they had abandoned the poor dog. Anderson Ribeiro, boss of the Secretariat of Animal Protection in Sao Leopoldo, passed his information over to police who confirmed their investigation on the charge of animal abuse and have called witnesses to testify. The penalty for animal abuse ranges from three months to a year in jail and a fine.

Now, he seems happy and is as healthy as ever

TinTin is thriving and people can finally feel at peace

Luckily, TinTin seems to be as happy and healthy as ever. Cuddled by his new owners, the handsome boy seems to have finally found his forever home.

Especially after it was reported that the people who dumped TinTin will be facing jail time

Without a doubt, people were heartbroken and angry over the outrageous video

I will never understand the cruelty of some humans when it comes to disabled animals. Are their lives not worthy of love and care as well?!? I am honestly shocked when it comes to some peoples reactions to disabled pets - my own Mother asked me when I adopted my three legged wonder dog 8 years ago why they didn't just "put it down". SMH. Is that what you would do with a disabled child?? Sad. Thankfully my baby is living his best life now & doesn't let anything bring him down! :D

It's a relief to notice that the dog TinTin keeps smiling, having found a loving home. I don't want to mention or think about the owners.

Watching that monster shove the dog so it couldn't get back in her car and then seeing it forlornly limp around afterwards is one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever seen in my life. I couldn't help but cry after seeing it. If she didn't want the dog, she should have taken it to a shelter, not abandoned it so cruelly. You just know she mistreated Tin Tin when she had him at home because no one who could do this is a good person or pet owner. Tin Tin is better off not being with such a person and it's a relief that he has a happy ending. Let's hope his owner is punished to the maximum extent of the law.

We are looking after our fourth abandoned cat after only four months of relocating to Portugal. It has been hard to accept how people can just dump an animal without even thinking about what will happen to it or the strain it places on the person who takes it in. That being said, we have no idea what pressures led to them being dumped either or how much heartache that may have caused. Some of the Twitter comments above scare me more than anything else. Compassion seems to be in shorter supply than money these days....

Poor baby!! As an amputee with many other disabilities & chronic illnesses, I’m appalled that this sweet dog had his heart broken twice in the same day, simply because they couldn’t be bothered to care for him. My mum is 67 years old with severe back trouble, fibromyalgia & all sorts of old-age pains; yet she is my main carer. I once felt really depressed that I told her just to put me into a home. She gave me a shocked look, then hugged me & said she’d never let that happen. She even got me a little (rescue) chihuahua as a companion. Hope TinTin has found a better mum than the witch who abandoned him. I will think of him every time I watch the old animated series he was named after (which I bought from iTunes)... 🥺💖🐕

If people realized that hurting animals was akin to hurting a child or baby, the punishments would be greater. Glad the dog got a forever home because it's owners were poo and didn't deserve him. But sad poor good boy had to have that trauma.

this made me so sad, i can't believe people do this. i love my dog so much, just this weekend we had to bring her to a dog daycare while all my family went away to a funeral, and she's never been alone before. usually if some of us leave, one of us can watch her and she's never away from home overnight without us with her, so she was very nervous and stressed when we got her back (i missed her SO much!) because she had anxiety issues. her first owners abandoned her because she got 'too big' and would knock over their 3 yr old when she got excited, but they never trained her or anything, and she was just a puppy! anyways, this just made me so sad. the poor dog! my dog was so sad and worried when we got her, she kept whining when he left the car (she was in the trunk and we had to get out first to get her out) or if we'd leave th erin, i can only imagine for this poor puppy!
