I’m Making Paintings That Show What It Feels Like To Be Over-Stimulated By Society
I was always intrigued by the amounts of information we we’re getting on a daily basis. Think about it, commercials, social media, smartphones, television. In our society there are not a lot of places where there is just peace and quiet. That inspired me to imagine what a over-stimulated mind would see if it could not handle all these information sources. It was the beginning of a series of portraits that show what it feels like to be over-stimulated constantly.
I noticed immediately that a lot of people recognized the theme and could identify with it. It is not really that I want to criticize the world as it is now, I believe the canvasses are merely creating a mirror for myself and my surroundings.
