Several months ago I stopped a diverse handful of strangers on the streets of New York and asked them a few questions about happiness and equality.

What they told me was touching messages full of kindness that the world needs right now.

“Everybody is just the same to me. That’s what my mum taught me.” – Pamela, a 19-year-old model from Dominican Republic

“We are all put on this earth the same way, we leave the same way.” – Nicole, a 27-year-old nurse

“We’re all very equal, we all are subject to one.” – Shimon, 36-year-old who sells water on Brooklyn Bridge

“We are all human, we are all the same. Everybody deserves to be happy.” – 21-year-old Zhai from China who sells bubble tea 

“Because when other people do well, everybody does well.” – Jessica, a 65-year-old artist from Manhattan
