The Incredibles! 11 Years Later

The new Incredibles film is almost out! I like so many others have been waiting 14 years for this moment, and I am hyped! I worked on this project a few years ago when I wondered what a sequel would look like. So here it is!

I am a concept artist (who is looking for freelance and studio work by the way *hint hint*) so I really delved into their characters to see what life would be like for each of them. If you want to check out my work further go to either inksmithillustration.com, @inksmith for IG, or email me at inksmithillustration@gmail.com

Keep in mind I haven’t seen the sequel yet so I have no idea if all of this won’t make sense in a day based on character and world development.

The setting: Its 11 years after the events of the first movie. Supers are being reintegrated into society under the jurisdiction of the government. Young supers can attend government funded “Super” schools to learn how to safely serve the public and fight crime.

Bob Parr – Mr. Incredible: Bob is the new director of Super schools. He is settling into the career of his dreams: teaching young supers all of his old tricks. His greatest focus is training up his youngest, Jack Jack, so that his family legacy can go on strong.

Jack Jack: Jack Jack is turning 12 and starting middle school. This is a confusing time in life for any preteen. Things are even weirder because when people tell Jack Jack that his body is about to go through a bunch of changes he can’t help but nervously think, “I’m a shapeshifter already! What on earth more can my body do?!”

I believe Jack Jack would be our main character as he tries to find his role in an already prestigious family.

Dash Parr: Dash is in his young twenties and finishing school. The worlds fastest man will quickly realize that no matter how fast you are you can’t keep up with all of the opportunities and possibilities that are presented to you in this season of life. He will have to work hard to be a good student, a good friend, a good super, and still make time for his family.

Violet Parr: Violet is in her mid twenties, and despite gaining much more confidence than when we first met her she is still no match for the emotional mess that is career hunting. Violet only wants to disappear when going to all of the countless and fruitless interviews. Her challenge is to somehow be bold and open when she keeps being told no.

Helen Parr – Elastigirl/Mrs. Incredible: Helen is the quintessential mother. She is asked to stretch in a million directions for her family, and stay flexible for any changes that happen to “the plan.” Now that Jack Jack is growing up she is having to face the beginning of the “empty nest” for the first time. The woman who can literally stretch in a million directions is not being called on to do so the same anymore. Helen will have to search herself and her identity outside of just being a mother, and how to deal with a son pushing for independence.

These are just the ideas I thought would be cool for a new sequel. Tell me what you think!

Note!!! I do not own any of these characters. They belong to Pixar and Disney. This is merely done for fun conceptualizing.

Dude, this is incredible...dang, no pun intended. I was actually kinda bummed that the sequel didn't have any age progression. Well done!
