The Bonnie Days – Creative Portraits In Imaginary Worlds (13 pics)

I started photographing Bonnie when she was 5 weeks old as a fun picture for my husband’s birthday. I built up a “party” setting and it looked like she was dancing and having a groovy time.

After that I was so inspired and had so many ideas that we just continued taking photos and it evolved into “The Bonnie Days” project.

It is important to me that Bonnie is aware of what is going on now when she is a bit older. I set up the scenario and tell her about all the things in the “landscape.”

Then I get her ready and, if she is in a good mood, I lay her down in the middle of the set up and climb the ladder to take the picture. Her interaction with the things around her is what makes the pictures “come alive.”

When we are done, Bonnie gets to play with all the props before we clean up.

We will continue doing this project as long as Bonnie wants to be part of it. Or til she grows out of the frame.
