Tattoo Artist Gets Accused Of Racism For Tattooing Her Entire Body In Black

Isn't this like, her own business? Why are people so judgemental about other people's lives but lose it when you judge theirs? How does it affect you if she inks her whole body black? And more importantly, how is this even racist? People who shout racism on every little thing are often racists themselves.

Her body, her choice. Personally I think it is unhealthy to ink that much skin, and I do not understand the artistic value, but I don't have to have it done to me, so if it makes her happy good for her.

We wear black pants, black shirts, black shoes and more just about every day. Tattooing is no difference. This is a beautiful and meaningful way to express your deepest thoughts and desires to everyone, not a racism stunt.

I can think of a couple words I'd use to describe her choices but racist isn't one of them.

How is this even racist? Is she hating on any race? No. Is she purposely hurting someone (other than maybe some butthurts? Probably no. She decided to tattoo her body a certain color, nothing more to it. If this whole cultural appropriation thing goes on, in 2018, we will be accused of being intolerant towards the flamingoes for wearing pink and towards the carrots for wearing orange. Tsk tsk.

as a person of color, i just don't see this "racism." many people today do this, so when/ if they do white ink tattooing (not sure but i think it makes branding markings more distinctive as well). also, i think it looks REALLY cool and stylish.

My first impression was that of a toddler with a black sharpie and the trouble they can get into. However, if she wants to do this to herself, then so be it. She's an adult and can make her own choices. She is the one who has to live with it. I wonder though if she will eventually regret her decision to cover herself in a solid black tattoo? What will she look like in thirty or forty years tattooed like that? As for the people calling her racist. These people do not know what real racism is. They have never seen it nor experienced it. The majority are far too young to remember the segregation that was still very prevalent even into the early 60's; the "whites only" and "colored only" signs everywhere and the harsh penalties for not obeying them. I could go on but I hope you get my point. No, what this person is doing is not racism or race or cultural appropriation. It is simply someone expressing herself in her own unique way.

I don't think there is anything racist at all about this young ladies decision. In my opinion, which is my own, is it would be so much more uplifting and interesting if she chose a gazillion beautiful and colorful tattoos. To each, her own.

I think this is a sign this woman needs help, seriously. She OBVIOUSLY has self-image issues. Lets face it, this is FAR from normal. This is a cry from a woman who is very unhappy with who she was or is when this began. Either that or she suffers very badly from obsessive/compulsive disorder and just can't stop. I don't think it has anything to do with race or racism, I think it has to do with what or whom she believes herself to be or not be. If this were my family member or good friend, I would be HIGHLY suggesting counseling. The big problem is, should she ever decide she doesn't want this, it will be one of the biggest nightmares ever seen with removing tattoos.
