I present a series of photos with snails, made using the bokeh method.
I live in Poland. I have been dealing with artistic photography for 8 years. I especially like photographing snail motifs.
Photography is my passion, a kind of meditation, giving me relaxation and a reset from the hardships of everyday life.
Bokeh is a transliteration of the Japanese word bo-ke, which means blur. We pronounce the word "boke." In photography, it is a way of rendering out-of-focus objects beyond the depth of field. Photographers sometimes deliberately use this shallow focus technique to create photos with visible areas out of focus.

I love snails. I always save them from the sidewalk or the sun. Sometimes I even order a salad to my job so they can refuel and rehydrate before I let them go in a safer spot. I have videos of them eating carrot strips!
Stunning-- it makes me think of a scene from a fairy-tale.
I didn't realise just how tiny and delicate they are. The shell looks like the size of my thumb-nail.
"One side makes you grow taller, the other side makes you grow smaller..."
I love the soft-focus of the spider-web in the background.
Beautiful and I enjoyed the pictures. I'll never look at snails the same way although my garden snails aren't near as glamorous.
So good. But to be honest, when I read the headline, I thought I would be seeing snails that use the bokeh method 😂
Thanks to everyone for your comments. It's not easy to take such shots. What you can see is the process of my experience working with these small animals is the ability to control depth of field, control light and skillfully capture and catch the moment. The equipment itself is nothing, because I do not approach what I do only technically. Technique alone will not give your photos a soul. The photos are amazing, almost surreal with this techniqu .. love every single one of them. I have never heard of bokeh photographing before, I really must look into that further.
BokehHHHHHHHH. Also. Discuss your lens, etc, otherwise it's just repetitive and uninformative.
What you're seeing (bokeh) is just a result of depth of field. You can do it with almost any camera/lens, including your phone. It's very, very simple to recreate.
It's put the world of snails and bugs etc., in a new perspective to me. Everything looks otherworldly and like somewhere where I'd love to dwell! Gorgeous!
These are exquisite. The backgrounds look like they're filled with jewels. The snails and flora are naturally beautiful. We like snails. My daughter would let them slide over her when she was a child. She tried with slugs but they irritated her skin.
