Powerful Video Reveals How Ads Are Filled With Sexism And Objectification Of Women
349Kviews
Objectification of women is a thing that exists even in a sandwich advertisement. That’s what the #WomenNotObjects project is all about. The video pairs some egregious examples of sexist advertising with sarcastic remarks from women exposed to them. From sandwiches to pick-up trucks to clothing – it’s as pervasive as to be everywhere.
The project video encourages discussion by using #WomenNotObjects hashtag. If you want to see more ladies fighting back, here’s a post on female scientists reacting to a sexist remark by a prominent male colleague. And here’s one about a project using hygiene pads to raise rape awareness.

Omg we're talking about the issues women face. Quickly, let's talk about the great suffering of white men instead! Males like you are the reason we need feminism. It always has to be about you, doesn't it, buddy?

Women are objectified way, way, way more often than men. The struggle of women is much different than that of man, and if you don't see that than you are a moron and you are part of the problem.

Please shut your goddamn mouth. As a gay man, I know for a FACT our gender is not being objectified. People like you make me sick.

There's no reason to reply with such hostility. Men are objectified in various fields of advertisement, just not quite on the same scale as women. Your ultimate goal should be to open a dialogue with someone about this kind of sexism, not crucify them for expressing their valid opinion.
No you don't know that for a fact--you're just an agenda driven ideologue, and a disgustingly rude one to boot. Typical.
I want to kiss you, thanks for sticking up!
Diet coke advert? Women looking at a half naked man? If that would be a bunch of guys looking at a half naked girl wouldn't work well would it? Both women and men are objectified... Just google 'men objectification' and you will see. Your argument is not a fact, it's invalid.
Thank you, Richard.
WOW Richard = White Knight loser who hates men (yet claims to be gay) LOL

How about You do such an article. That should be interesting.
I am all against women objectification (or anyone's objectification for that matter, no one deserves to be treated like a tool), but sadly I'd have to agree that this video was a bit too weak and vague. The "I am your..." was a good point, but would have been more effective if shown in front of those sexualised pictures (or would that be a little extreme maybe...?). My favourite part was the parfume one, "man that smells like a vagina"! Hilarious! In that given context, of course.
Sexism just sucks. How have humans come to this? Why?!!!
Oh please, men being objectified? Not quite the same thing is it? Try to be honest.
Yes, it is the same thing. Nobody should be objectified... and it doesn't matter if you are a woman or a man. We are all equal.
And how often does objectification of men happen? All I ever see in ads are half-naked women, often accompanied by attractive white men who are clearly showing dominance over said women. But who knows, maybe on the planet Viktorija comes from things are different.

We are all equal? Which planet do you live on Viktorija??
You want honest? Then tell us what those women who are actually in the photo are after? Clearly not all women feel the same.
