This is a story all too familiar to many people! Being contacted by scammers!
Most people just ignore or delete, swear to themselves and move on. I worked in financial industry for many years and heard a lot of stories from people who lost a lot because of scams! I hate it!!
A couple nights ago I was contacted by “Mark Zuckerberg” MarkZucks212 on Instagram and told that I was 1 of 5 people who were chosen to win $1million in the Facebook lottery!
I reported it to Instagram – a terrible process – nowhere to give explanation, just REPORT and that’s it. I got a message back saying this person did not break their rules – no other explanation, no one to contact, nothing!
OK, I will play along to get more proof and get this ID banned – they will just create another, but, at least I tried!
So I spend 6 plus hours chatting back and forth with “Zucks” so I could document all the details of the scam. I even posted it directly to Facebook publicly – Live (and a few of my friends enjoyed it) hoping that someone at Instagram or Facebook would notice!

Again I “reported” to Instagram but, have not gotten a response this time.
They second person (assuming it’s two people) who contacted me sent me an ID from Fedex to prove that they are real and legitimate! The ID looks authentic (Dallas, TX?) so I emailed the info to abuse@fedex.com (from their website) to let them know and see if it’s a fake ID or if an employee is involved in this scam. No response from them as of writing this.
As you can probably tell already, I don’t like these people – or more importantly, what they do! So to go to the next level, I went to the FBI website, and the Ontario Provincial Police website to report this incident and to see if anyone would look into this crap!! Everyone talks about it, but, all they say is “nothing can be done”! At the very least, we can give these idiots a lot of press and remove a lot of potential victims! Maybe even force companies like Facebook and Instagram from being complacent – if they know it’s happening, have the means to shut them down, but, do nothing?
