Remember the time you met an old high-school friend at the supermarket? How about that evening when a co-worker sat next to you on the bus practicing his social skills?
BuzzFeed's Lara Parker has compiled a unique collection of honest graphs about these situations and the social norms in responding to them. Sometimes we just have to participate in a conversation even though all our instincts are screaming otherwise and the thought 'i hate people' is on repeat in our heads. Of course, running away (or in extreme circumstances even punching a person in his face) and joining the Anti-Social Club often seems compelling but the etiquette demands to nod, smile and engage in the small talk. And that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Perhaps if more people saw these graphs, they would start less painfully disturbing chit-chat in the first place. But if you want to, then firmly hold on to your people suck beliefs, because nobody really cares.

Am i the only who puts up a suggestions and regret it immediately as it will increase the meeting
While also planning on getting even with the person who "trapped" you with their "small talk"
Then they will text you back, and i will have to text back AGAIN, and so on D:
Both! The only time I use my phone is to play games and take pictures of my gorgeous dog.
But now due to coronavirus I’m stuck with my mom and I f*****g hate it.
I can relate to this very much. I'm never busy because I have no life but I legit hate people so I just say I'm busy.
of course, im busy I need to breath make sure my heart is working and look at bored panda! what do people think!!
I can't get away with this because there are only 2 people who call me, my Mom and my daughter. And they both know I'm not doing a damn thing.
Yes, I AM busy...reading...or watching the paint dry on my book shelf...or watching something on Netflix...or doing anything which doesn't entail any human interaction.
For me the diagram's in reverse, I'm actually eating more than I trying not to roll my eyes. But, sometimes both of these things are equal. Depends on what party I'm going to. If it's a pity party....then this chart might actually apply to me.
Me at parties: First 5 mins: Fun Next 5 mins: Fun (I guess) Next 5 mins: So when is this gonna end? ...5 mins before I leave: This party isn't that boring after all 5 mins later: Wait, it's over?
I don't really like group projects because my ideas would take more time to explain than to get done. On the other hand, when I'm working alone, I rarely get things done. Solution: something I call "indirect teamwork", like Wikipedia or wikis where you can finish what others have started and vice versa.
As long as I can be left alone to do my own designated tasks, I'm good.
I have 3 friends: My Mom, my daughter, and my home healthcare lady. That's it and I'm okay with that. And it's really hard to even think about making friends with anyone else because I don't trust people. And I mean I REALLY, REALLY don't trust people. I live alone, just me and my dog. Nice and quiet out here in the country. And I wouldn't trade it for anything. Being an introvert isn't so bad, I enjoy my own company. Most people can't say that.
I usually act as if i were busy with my cell so i don't have to be bothered to do any of that :b
If I see someone I know, I'll take the stairs to avoid them, or take the elevator if I see them walking towards the stairs.
Actually saying, "Can you not?" is often taken as a challenge. Most people like to be where they're not wanted. Such as in my life.
I probably shouldn't post them online. But I bet you know what I'm thing.
No, non of these. The fact that I'm not a people's person doesn't mean I'm an internet troll.
This graph is stupid. If you hate people, then you just don't even go on social media.
I prefer to jump around and learn new things. It's a better use of my time.
none of these. i basically like every cat picture on my timeline (plenty).
My self-esteem is fair to middling and I've fought to achieve it. Other people are only good for reduction of self-esteem. That's why I try my best to stay away from them.
why hate yourself?
Load More Replies...Second only too the hobby of correcting peoples spelling! - hobby.
Load More Replies...Hobbies. They make me happy, especially since they entail no human interaction. When the phone rings or I hear knocking on my door, I remember again why I hate people.
i love to hate people. If anyone has a problem then go f**k yourself
I don't hate anyone, I just don't want to be around people I don't know. Hell I don't even want to go to our family reunion every year, I don't know half the people there. But my Mom and my daughter make me go. So i go, stay a couple of hours and then go home. That way I can say I went and no one gets mad at me. I know this is not a hobby, I'm just thinking out loud. And while I'm at it I'll say this, it is extremely difficult to sift through people and find somone who is NOT an idiot.
That's just sad. But, I love people, so it's why I cannot relate. Commandment 2... Love thy neighbor as thyself. You will be a much happier person and be obeying God.
Obeying a fake being from an ancient storybook? Nah. If he were real then it'd be his fault idiots exist, therefore why listen to a thing he supposedly spewed in that ridiculous book of BS? People suck through and through. I love my family and my dogs. That's where it begins and ends. Friends? Worthless. People on the street? They'll just take advantage of you given a chance. Helping society? Nope. I'm also not ashamed to tell someone to not bother me. In an elevator, saying "I don't care to have a conversation" is quite easy and enjoyable. Especially the look on their face. F*** people. The human race is the most evil, most disgusting, most shameful organism alive. If I never had contact with another human I'd be very happy.
Load More Replies...Eeew! These charts paint introverted 'people haters' as a pretty sorry lot! ????
I can relate to most of those charts, not because I hate people but because I'm introverted, there's a big difference
I can relate to them too. Although it's not because I'm an introvert. It's because I hate people. And because people suck.
Load More Replies...It's not like that I hate people... Only I love to live alone and don't want anyone to bug me.
Wow some of these are sad actually. Im an introvert and dont really like people (at all) but if your hobby is hating people and all you do online is judge others... You just sound lonely and pathetic.
You harp on people that judge others, while you judge others. Alice! The irony!
Load More Replies...it's easy to hate people when you are around them for a few since most people are hateable in that most have hideous traits in some form or another whether it be low intelligence, character, tastes, interests etc. this is very easy to understand if you consider the average/majority. of course, those who are of this average don't have people rub them the wrong way as much. birds of a feather flock together and the majority are of the same feathers which honestly are idiots or have subpar to horrible unethical character.
Yes!! You nailed it. I think you and I could have been friends. If I didn't hate people.
Load More Replies...Perhaps "hating people" is a bit extreme: but hating STUPID people is explicit and quite appropriate. And remember: stupid people vote.
Introvert is a normal personality trait...but is always looked down apon. Why can't I be myself(an introvert) in peace? This is why I don't like people much, because pretty much like the author, they judge based on their own theory, education or what society deems as normal.
I hate being around people, mostly because of trauma. Trauma of failing to earn their respect, failing to earn their friendship.
Did Panda forget to take its Prozac (Effexor, Wellbutrin, whatever -- fill in the blank) today ? Between a psycho God creating animals and this I feel like I've accidentally gone over to the dark side.
