Only numerous teeth and lower jaws (mandibles) have been found for gigantopithicus. The upper skull is pure speculation. The possibility exists that the critter is built like Paranthropus bosei (nutcracker man) with a massive lower jaw and a much smaller skull. And a correspondingly much shorter stature.
