9 Iconic Brand Logos Get Transformed Into Female Versions, And The Results Look Awesome

This year’s women’s day was all about empowering women, and more companies than ever have come together to celebrate this day.

Creative Equals, an organization aiming to support talented women and promote diversity in creative industries, has decided to replace iconic company logos with female characters in order to highlight the issues of unbalanced branding in the media.

Their logo designs include companies like Pringles, Monopoly, DreamWorks, Schwarzkopf, and Bic. Creative Equals hope that this will bring out the issues of gender inequality because according to the organization’s founder and CEO Ali Hanan, 89.5 percent of creative design directors are male and it can affect a brand’s identity.

In an interview with Dezeen, Ali Hanan stated that they are not attacking any of these brands personally, but they wanted to show a variety of examples to get people celebrating International Women’s Day and thinking about the need for equal rights.

This is not the only creative idea for International Women’s Day this year, we were already surprised by Barbie’s collection of 17 new dolls that portray inspiring women from all around the world. Also, check out how these cosplayers portrayed Disney princesses pursuing their dream professions in this inspiring photo shoot!

Scroll down to see how these iconic male mascots would look like if they were females!

This is starting to really get to me. Um...do the mental midgets that do these types of things realize that logos and this type of thing don't really have much of anything to do with "empowering" anybody? I mean I get that there might be a good intention but W TV instead of MTV? Isn't that just wusic tv? Or WcDonalds? Changing an M to a W doesn't mean anything. I'm a SMART feminist (NOT a bad word) and I'm also a liberal person who doesn't hate Republicans. I respect everyone and their beliefs. These little trite moves are just dumb and placate....who? Don't give me anything I don't earn. Don't patronize me. Just treat me fairly and we'll be good. The rest of this is for those who aren't intelligent.

Same here. I don’t think all of the criticism in the comments is misplaced— some of the logos could *already* have been any gender, and a pony tail doesn’t empower me— but I do find it thought-provoking to find how many logos and mascots are masculine, which I never noticed before. Almost like in many cases male is the default gender, and female is the “other.”

bic and dreamworks don't really work in my mind. Bic's character is non-binary and the dreamworks fisher could have been female anyway! (not all women or girls have long hair) but cool changes for all the rest! next year we should have all corporate characters change gender for the day for womans day!

Some of these are really nicely designed. I know this is a serious topic, and I don't want to detract from that, but as I watched this, I kept noticing that a few saw female as 'adding a ponytail'. My hair isn't a crew cut, but it is short... Too short to put into a ponytail without a fight. meanwhile, my bro is growing out his hair and it's almost longer than mine at the front. Just a thought

Come on guys, of course this is not changing the way people think and conceive ideas, but it gets some attention to where its needed. Away from daily murder reports and aww look how cute this dog is to something more important. I think in order to change the way we currently think in genders we have to be surrounded by stuff like that for quite a while. And not only to achieve real - and not only on paper - gender equality. But also to be way more environmental conscious in order to not totally destroy our species in the next 10 years.

Other than the Bic logo, most of these remove major visuals and it makes them worse. The Pringles one for example just looks empty without the mustache. Add more hair other than a ponytail. Same with monopoly, keep the monocle or add glasses.

Sorry to say but the Rich aunt Pennybags above looks more like a cabaret dancer than a billionaire.. And the case of Schwarzkopf logo is just sad example of stereotypical thinking where "empowering designer" assumes that women must have always a long hair and woman's head in the logo is not feminine enough.

I don't really like this because they logos are fine the way they are and it's not like woman care that much that a logo is more masculine or is a man, it just bothers people when it is marketed towards men because it is more masculine. Also I never thought of the bic logo of actually being a guy I always just thought it was gender neutral, but whatever.

If women could get the real deal out of making feminine version of logos.... That would be a revolution! Sadly it won't... Awesome creativity but why can't be it the other way round too... Like making male version of Rolex... It obviously has queen's crown for its logo. It's time we stop pseudo feminism matters and work on what's actual logical view. 😊

I'm a feminist and I think that these issues are completely irrelevant to the actual issues in the world that NEED feminism. Having lived in a 3rd world country for 18 years, I realized that pretty quick. There are acid attacks because the woman's family does not hand in the dowry (large quantity of money or property the wife's family give to the husband for taking care of his wife) on time, there are ladies who are forced to get an abortion because the child is a girl, some girls are forced to stay at home and have not attended school for once in their lifetime, and many more which leads to abuse and finally death. Changing logos empower nobody. People need to figure out what needs 'feminism' and what doesn't.

Almost like in many cases male is the default gender, and female is the “other.”

The amount of time it took for someone to come up and create these versions amazes me, only for me to take 10.6 seconds to look at the finished idea and be like.. Nah man.. But at least he did something with his spare time, I for one am sitting in a site called bored panda leaving comments wondering why the hell I'm so bored 😂

bic and dreamworks don't really work in my mind. Bic's character is non-binary and the dreamworks fisher could have been female anyway! (not all women or girls have long hair) but cool changes for all the rest! next year we should have all corporate characters change gender for the day for womans day!

Exactly. My mom kept my hair short until I was about 12, and my play clothes were from older cousins (all boys). And any bows or barettes fell right out, so that could be me sitting on the edge of the moon fishing.

That's what I'm saying. They're literally changing an M to a W and making them Wusic TV and WcDonald's. It's so patronizing. Like what? M stands for man and W stands for woman? Apparently. So they should have also made their signs pink or blue as well. I mean it's absolutely ridiculous.
