Meet Corinna Jodeit, a candidate in a local election in north-western Germany, who is now widely notorious not for her political ideologies but for a piece of jewellery she was seen wearing.

“We live in times of no morale standards,” one commented after her poster went viral.

With high hopes of winning the local political race, Corinna Jodeit is standing as a candidate for Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s conservative Christian Democrats for the election to the town council of Wildeshausen, near Bremen.

She caused quite a stir with just days to go before the September 13 election.

The 38-year-old mother was seen in an election poster, wearing a gold necklace with the explicit acronym: M*LF

The term, which stands for “Mother I’d Like to F**k,” is commonly used as a provocative label for attractive middle-aged women and is also an established term in the p*rnogr**hy industry.

People who laid eyes on the chain were baffled by her choice of accessory. Critics also claimed that the vulgar term would be reducing female political candidates to their appearance.

But Jodeit believes there is absolutely no reason to apologize for it.

“Of course, it’s provocative. I can understand that not everyone supports this necklace,” she told local media outlets.

The conservative candidate asserted that the four letters hanging from her neck stand for a woman’s strength and independence.

“I like being a mom. But not only that,” she added.

The hopeful candidate flaunts her chains, flashy nails, and colorful tattoos whenever she is out and about.

And she is proudly aware that she doesn’t fit the typical appearance of a conservative candidate.

“I don’t necessarily look like the CDU,” she said.

Jodeit claims the backlash isn’t really about her chain but an attempt by opponents to drag her down

Nevertheless, Jodeit didn’t show any inclination towards wanting to change up her image to fit the mould.

Even the hate online didn’t deter her.

She believes the narrative around her image is simply a way for her opponents to drag her down.

“The criticism isn’t about the chain at all, but about making it harder for me,” Jodeit added.

Netizens had plenty to say about her chain, with one comment reading, “No ppl should be in politics if they are preoccupied with s*x.”

“‘Wow, look, a M*LF, what a strong, independendent woman.’ Thought no one ever,” read another comment.

“If she bought herself a ‘milf’ necklace, chances are she has a ‘narcissist’ tattoo,” one speculated.

    Another wrote, “’I N T E L L I G E N T’ would be too long to put on a necklace.”

Critics called her “classless” and said politicians had lost all standards

“When you think it can’t even get worse than comes the next ultimate clown,” one said. “Out of the box.”

“This is certainly an attention-grabbing choice in the election campaign. Provocation can generate headlines, but for voters, political content and ideas ultimately matter more than a controversial accessory,” wrote another.

Jodeit has been campaigning for the last few months for city council.

In one social media post, she said that when it comes to local politics, “being close to people” is her number one priority.

She said it wasn’t about being the subject of big headlines or participating in abstract debates.

“CLASSLESS! Remember a time when politicians had class? I do! And it was a long ass time ago!” read one comment online

“It’s about everyday life here in Wildeshausen and the people who live here,” she wrote in an Instagram caption.

For the people of the city, she said she wanted to be the one they turn to and the one who listens to them, thinks with them, and tackles problems with them.

“I’m looking forward to realizing this with all of you,” she concluded.

“That is certainly one bold campaign statement,” one commented online

Hey, she has every right to waste time and money on a campaign that she is purposely torpedoing like this. I am pretty sure this is just the outer layer of a load of sketchy stuff about her that would bee highly inappropriate on a public level, and disastrous on a political level. Politicians should be professional. Their job isn’t a reality TV show, it’s important work that is supposed to be for all the people they represent. Keep your private life private and your public life public.

I'm a lot less offended by her wardrobe than her policies.

LAME has 4 letters and would suit her better.
