Pink has never let other people’s opinions dictate how she lives, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from weighing in on her recent appearance.

It was an ordinary outing, but unfiltered paparazzi photos quickly circulated online, sparking a debate about the singer’s appearance.

Some social media users claimed she looked drastically different from the glamorous images they were used to seeing.

Others suggested they had difficulty recognizing her without the filters and makeup they believed she typically used in her online photos.

“She looks so different without the heavy Instagram filters she uses,” one commenter wrote.

    “That’s not PINK!!!” another exclaimed.

“What? When? She doesn’t look anything like Pink,” a third person commented.

Others said, “Don’t think this is pink – in fact, I’m sure this is not pink. What makeup can hide, wow.”

“No one looks fabulous all the time. It’s just a bad picture…”

The criticism highlighted the unrealistic expectations often placed on women in the public eye, especially around aging.

Rather than letting the criticism go unanswered, the singer addressed the viral picture on her Instagram Stories with humor.

Sharing the photograph that had sparked the discussion, she wrote, “What is everyone talking about? I look HOT!”

Pink continued, “And you can tell that’s what I was going for, too. I woke up and said, ‘I am going to be serving LOOKS today.’ And I did that.”

She added several laughing emojis and gave the paparazzi image a tongue-in-cheek accolade, labeling it “Best photo award.”

Then, in a follow-up Instagram Story, she shared a smiling selfie wearing glasses and a casual tank top.

Her caption read, “I look even better today.”

Her response also made it clear that she wasn’t about to let strangers on the internet dictate how she should feel about herself.

Some fans praised her confidence, while others pointed out that women should not have to maintain a perfectly polished appearance every time they leave the house.

“The best part is that Pink obviously belongs to the ‘WE DO NOT CARE CLUB’ and I love it,” one person wrote.

Another commenter shared, “Stop criticizing women! We deserve to age and not feel shame for it. I wish I could be this confident in my own skin and I hope to gain my confidence as I age.”

“She’s still beautiful. Makeup doesn’t create beauty, it enhances it,” a third user commented.

“Her talent speaks for her. The rest is not really important. Let her live her life,” one comment read.

Over the years, Pink has been vocal about aging and cosmetic procedures.

In a widely shared 2020 message to herself, she reflected on noticing changes in her face and learning to appreciate what they represented.

“I see lines. Especially when you smile… But your face wrinkles where you laugh,” she wrote.

“Every once in a while you consider altering your face, and then you watch a show where you want to see what the person is feeling… and their face doesn’t move. I cannot get behind it…”

Her reasoning was particularly personal, as she wanted her children, daughter Willow and son Jameson, whom she shares with her husband, former motocross racer Carey Hart, to grow up with a healthy perspective on aging.

Pink has repeatedly said she wants to embrace aging naturally rather than change her face to meet beauty standards

“I want my children to know what I look like when I’m angry,” she explained, emphasizing the importance of letting her face reflect her emotions naturally.

“Yes. Although I don’t feel old, and I still get to wear a leotard to work, growing older is actually my first ‘grateful’ every day. What a blessing to have life, years,” she wrote.

On another occasion, she expressed a similar sentiment in a simple but powerful statement: “I pray I look older in 10 years, cause that will mean I’m alive.”

Her views on beauty have also influenced how she talks to her daughter.

During her acceptance speech for the Video Vanguard Award at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, Pink recalled her daughter worrying that she was “ugly” because she looked different from other girls.

The Just Give Me a Reason hitmaker explained that she, too, had been criticized for her appearance and for not fitting conventional ideas of femininity.

Her advice to Willow was: “We don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell, and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so they can see more kinds of beauty.”

“She’s beautiful without makeup. While all these others use AI-generated pics. It’s refreshing,” one fan wrote
