Powerful images from international photographers display the importance of learning and sharing knowledge with each other: from classrooms to monasteries, discover the top 50 #Education2019 photography contest finalists below, and don't forget to upvote the best photos!

Education is one of the most powerful tools for fighting poverty and inequality, as well as laying the foundations for solid economic growth. The more we understand the world we live in and the more information we get about other cultures and histories, the greater our chances of understanding points of view that might differ from our own ones.

Attending school helps us learn who we are, what we believe in, and what role we play in the world. This sense of self is essential for personal growth. Furthermore, going to school not only has an impact on the future of children but on the future of their families, friends, and communities. As more children are educated, the world becomes a brighter place.

These interesting photos from all different corners of the world have been selected among more than 19,513 submissions in the #Education2019 photo contest by Agora, a free-to-use photography app that has been rewarding the world’s biggest prizes in global photo contests since 2017.

The Agora community can now vote for their favorite image by the best photographers in the app and help the guest judge decide who will be the #Education2019 hero who will win the prize of $1,000. The winner of the photography award will be announced on Thursday 14th November 2019.

I go to the library every two weeks. I'd rather have a book in my hand than a tablet. I do have to read Bored Panda every day, though.

Global warming is killing us slowly. :( I hope that we could switch to more reliable, renewable sources instead of burning that horrid coal and gas. For example, world leaders could follow Japan's example and minimize plastic use in their respective countries instead of ignoring the fact that people are already dying because of the crisis.

I genuinely love it that a kid reading a comicbook is included in a list about education. Comics are still underrated and have poor overall reputation just because they have pictures.

I love architecture, but 'immersive' is the last thing I would call this. If there were more than one person in the room 'incredibly distracting' is what I would characterise it as.
