30 Photographs Of People Before And After Their Dive And The Difference Is Striking (30 Pics)
Interview With ArtistBrazilian photographer Marcos Alberti is known for capturing real, human emotions. His past photo series, like the viral Wine Project and the “O” Project, reached millions by focusing on the changes we go through in everyday moments. Now, he turns his lens toward one of his passions—diving.
In his latest project, taken in partnership with Dive For Fun and Noronha Divers, Alberti photographs divers right before and after they dive. The difference is striking. Before the dive, their faces show focus and nerves. After, there’s a visible rush of joy and calm. These photos aren’t about underwater scenes—they’re about how diving makes people feel.

This really just captures the joy of diving and seeing the world! The natural world is so beautiful, especially underwater...
They are all happier after their dive, seeing nature up close causes that reaction. Beyond just being dry versus wet, the before and after also shows something else. In every after image you can spot more pronounced signs of aging on their faces than were visible in the before image. A testament to the intense pressures and stresses and that underwater experiences the human body must subject to in order to explore the ocean world.
