What a beautiful reminder of what humanity should look like. We can all take some tips just from this photo alone. Hold your brother. You may need him one day
Humanity should look like divisive willful delusion?
Load More Replies...The obvious solution is to ban religion. That's the obstacle here. If there was a magic deity in the skies, do you think it would want people slaughtering each other in the name of it? It makes no sense. There's about 4,000 religions in the world and everyone thinks theirs is the 'right' one. Can't we just agree to be good humans and not battle each other over imaginary sh*t? Religion is so damaging and unnecessry.
A Muslim, a Sheik, and a Christian... DON'T walk into a bar. They're too young and know better! ≧◠‿◠≦
This needs to be on the front of all news outlets. These kids have life figured out.
Bored Panda reached out to Giancarla Pancera, a street photographer from Milan, Italy, whose work has been featured by "The Decisive Moments Magazine", and it’s a part of today’s list. We wanted to ask her some questions about street photography, which often captures candid, unscripted moments in everyday life.
Asked what attracts her to this genre, Giancarla said: “I really love living in a big city like Milan, where many interesting things are always happening. I am often the passive, sometimes active, spectator who observes the show with unaware actors moving within a stage that I myself compose.”
I've seen the little wheelchairs for dogs, but this is amazing.
It's a statue by Bruno Catalano, when initially creating the first of these statues (known as "The Travellers") he noticed a flaw in the statue and it prompted him to remove a large part of it, which to him, made it represent an emigrant being uprooted, etc, as there was an aspect of suffering, but they still hold onto their suitcases and look brightly to the future.
God has upgraded. He no longer smites people with lightning. Nowadays he's using Plasma Lances!
Oh, my god! It’s full of clouds! (To paraphrase Arthur C. Clarke in 2001: A Space Odyssey).
We were wondering what techniques or strategies Pancera uses to blend into the surroundings and maintain the authenticity of her subjects. The photographer shared with us: “I use various strategies, depending on the kind of story I have in mind. Many times it's crucial that the subject doesn't realize they're being photographed, so I become a chameleon… Almost transparent, it's quite easy, I just blend in with the crowd.”
Giancarla added: “However, there are times when I want to capture the subject's reactions when they notice me taking a photo and, in those moments, I become an active participant, not just an observer.”
Aah, the sacrifices we make for our cats...I bet off camera there's a comfy bed that has also been claimed by the kitties
Now, the question is, was the hand there and the cat laid down or was the cat there and the human just slipped his hand under the cat's head?
Street photography has some challenges related to privacy and ethics. We wanted to find out how the photographer from Italy navigates these considerations while documenting the lives of strangers in public spaces. Pancera told us: “I don't photograph children, and if I do, they are not recognizable. Most of the time I photograph people from behind or in situations where identification is difficult, or I make sure they look at me (thus I have their tacit consent!). But often my street photography doesn't even involve the presence of people and I find this much less stressful!”
That heron would love to be a kingfisher

I loved Italy. Walking through little villages, watching people hang their cats out to dry was wonderful.
We also asked what about the streets and urban environments inspire Giancarla’s work as a photographer. We found out that: “I adore everything, from the reflections in shop windows that I turn into surreal paintings to the games that shadows play on walls and sidewalks when the sun is low and magical.
I find joy in the ironic relationships between advertising posters and objects or people and capturing decisive moments to give a scene a different meaning, the one I want to convey. Essentially, I love distorting reality and making it mine.”
Lastly, Giancarla added that she mainly photographs places in the city she lives, Milan; however, every place can still surprise her and inspire her to capture some special moments there.
I can smell this picture! (cause i'm guessing it's old books?)
Load More Replies...I was actually scouring the picture looking for it!
Load More Replies...This must be from Halloween, but I can't tell if it's a pigeon dressed as a leaf or a leaf dressed as a pigeon.
You made me smile reflexively and that's OK!
Load More Replies...That is awesome, photographers have the keenest eyes I would have walked right on by
Not saying this would be everyday wear, but this "lip" coloring would be great for fancy dress.
Nowadays, all the storybook and fairy tales characters have been relocated from their charming little cottages (which, after all, were horribly inefficient and required massive upkeep) to a new modern development with all modern conveniences. And! - the Architect was a Mason!
I think this is the H Xi Gaepo luxury apartment complex by Hyundai in the Gangnam district.
This is more magical than it looks - that cat is actually jumping up, backwards. He's known as Sam, the Amazing Stunt Cat of Patagonia.
This isn't the Eiffel tower... then what is it? The tower is a lot bigger and has huge bases for each leg that are concrete and too tall to climb... the bases for the legs are too tall to climb!
It is Eiffel tower. It's far away in the back and the photographer (Robert Doisneau) zoomed in a lot, giving the impression that it was smaller.

He´s probably in full gear just for the fun of it. I would never want a kid to have to live and play in such surroundings.

I can see the kindness, but where do you see the beauty ?

Fun and games. I remember this. It wasn't funny. Ask the cripple who had his knees destroyed in a "punishment" shooting. Point and laugh at the widow in Manchester. She deserved it, being "British". Okay, I'm triggered, but I lived through it. Done.
Lots of us lived through it and it was never fun and games but no widows were made in the 1996 bombing of Manchester as there were no fatalities. Apologies if I'm wrong or if you're referencing another incident bit very few Irish ever pointed and laughed.
Load More Replies...Ahh the Troubles... yet another "glorious" example of religion's blight on our species.
Yeah, sexualising something as emotional as this... honestly, some people.

I think they make a beautiful couple. Very nurturing, according to what I see in this picture. To each their own. There’s nothing inappropriate here! If you don’t want to look at love, then look away. You shouldn’t be staring anyways.
My life is brilliant, my love is pure I saw an angel, of that I'm sure She smiled at me on the subway She was with another man But I won't lose no sleep on that 'Cause I've got a plan You're beautiful, you're beautiful You're beautiful, it's true I saw your face, in a crowded place And I don't know what to do 'Cause I'll never be with you
The photo was most likely taken at Maho Beach on St. Maarten, whose airport has the shortest runway in the world.

Load More Replies...That may be St.Maarten (Dutch side of the Island) in the Caribbean and yes ,here is an Airport with a landing strip.
Many years ago, a friend and I would go to the local airport and lay on the ground watching the planes take off above us.
navy boot camp -san diego - I spent a few days in the infirmary. The window in the bathroom lined up with the runway to the local airport. The commercial jets would come in so low I would see the rivets on the panel seams. (or maybe they are screw fasteners - whatever). And the entire bathroom floor / walls was tile and window open cuz hot summer. O-M-G it was loud if a plane landed while you were in there. Kind of cool to watch though since I was not usually that close.
A woman in front of her earthquake-damaged house in the old city in Marrakesh.
I live in gratitude and pray for those people who, through no fault of their own lose everything. Life is far from fair.
this is horrible, but what makes it worse is why would the photographer be taking a picture of this woman while she's experiencing so much loss and vulnerability? it doesnt make sense to me.
Reporter who wants to show the World these people's huge distress and make people donate ?
Load More Replies...Add him to the picture of sheep that was taken at night. The picture with all the sheep's eyes are glowing and it deserves its own horror movie.
I love the old flying boats. I wish they'd bring them back. Rather a tight turn though.
They do that so the flight attendant only has to clean one side of the plane. /S
Load More Replies...This is an Iranian girl, the government blinded her eye during protests.
Care to link to the news articles about this? There's a lot in the picture that contradicts your claim.
Load More Replies...May not be the case here but the police have been targeting the eyes of protesters. Was on the news.
One does not get tanned behind glass. It blocks most of the UV. Not that it matters to your point.
Load More Replies...I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. Could be trying to coax their cat out. This was on an Insta page with random street scenes.
It is probably exactly what it looks like. I've seen it in person. A lady in Italy who just stood in the gutter and the p**s was bouncing on her shoes. Also a young woman locally who squatted between two parked cars to p**s in the gutter. She did not seem to realize that I was sitting in the driver seat right next to her and she was leaning on my van. I just kept quiet rather than embarrass her because if she was having to p**s in the gutter she was already not having a great day. EDIT: Hey BP censor bot - what about "urine"? Is urine / urinate okay to say?
Load More Replies...One thing's for certain, it’s a gorgeous vehicle! American heavy metal!
