Barbara Peacock is a successful American commercial photographer based in Portland, Oregon. She has recently started a new project where she aims to photograph the hidden and transparent complexities of who Americans are as individuals and a nation through detailed and intimate portraits taken in the bedrooms across the USA.
The people in her photographs come from different backgrounds – some of them are friends of the author, and others are just strangers who she invites to participate in the project in various ways, for example, on social media or by leaving a card with all the information at local shops. Having worked in a nursing home, here is my suggestion for those of you who want to hug her and be with her: do exactly that!!! So many of these amazing people either have no family or family that lives far away. They want the company! Being a volunteer or even just going to visit them would honest to god make their day.
