30 Pics That Prove All Living Creatures Need Toys (New Pics)
While your pet might not fully understand the concept of Christmas, they would appreciate a gift nonetheless. After all, they need something to snuggle when you're away, too. But don't worry, little Puss and Rex are not as picky as your 13-year-old cousin. Just look at these cats and dogs, for example.
Bored Panda has compiled a list of photos where pets refuse to let go of their favorite toys, and I don't know if I've seen anything cuter. Even if the plushy (or just a piece of rope) is old, worn out, or already falling apart, some animals stand by them forever. Heck, some even sleep with them and take them on trips. Take a look!

When A Seal At Mombetsu Land In Japan Was Given A Stuffed, Mini Version Of Itself, It Hugged The Toy Close To Its Heart & Gave It A Piggyback Ride
According to specialists at ASPCA, enrichment is essential for both cats and dogs of all ages, and keeping their environment as exciting and stimulating as possible will promote a happy and healthy life.
Keeping the inside of your home stimulating and fun will help decrease boredom and decrease potential behavioral issues. The best part? You don't even have to spend money on it. You can just get creative. Just check out their canine and feline DIY enrichment guides.

Her Favorite Toy Is One That Is Way Too Big For Her And Was Meant For My Larger Dog
Many of the toys we see on this list are plushies. Soft stuffed animals are suitable for several reasons but it's good to know which one your pet would get the most fun of. For some cats, the stuffed animal should generally be small enough to carry around. But if your cat wants to "kill" the toy, the stuffed animal should be about the same size as the cat. Bonus tip: toys with legs and a tail seem to be even more attractive to cats.

Strider Poses Through The Years With His Baby
The same applies to dogs as well. Some pooches like to carry around soft toys. So if your dog sees their toy as a companion, pick one that's small enough to carry too. But other dogs want to shake and "kill" their toys. If that is the case with your little K9-wannabe, choose one that's large enough to prevent accidental swallowing and sturdy enough to withstand the attacks.
To make your pet's toys last longer, rotate them weekly by making only a few toys available at a time. Keep a variety of types easily accessible. However, if your four-legged friend has a favorite toy, you may want to leave it out all the time.

Which One Of Them Is Toy? Cuteness Overloaded
Kathryn Baylis 5 years ago (edited)
I had a cat named Lucy, who we adopted with her brother out of a barn when they were 9 weeks old. First toy she picked out was a squeaky stuffed duck that was bigger than she was. Over the years, Duckster went through many repairs, many accidental swims in the water bowl, many trips through the washer and dryer (on purpose and by accident if dropped in the laundry basket), and a re-stuffing. When Lucy died, Duckster was buried in her arms. (I still miss her.)

A Kitty And His Favorite Toy
Kathryn Baylis 5 years ago
Well, we all had favorite toys when we were kids—-some of us still do—-so it makes sense that our companion animals would adopt that behavior. I’ve always thought of my animals as being kids. Even when they get to be senior citizens, they still retain that childlike quality and continue to love on their favorite toys.

My cat, now 16 months, was hand reared from a day old as he was the runt and unable to latch to mum and started losing weight. Originally planned to get his weight up then return to the litter, however he came down with calicivirus so it wasn't possible. Before he was big enough to mix with my other cats he had a unicorn beanie toy that he was the same size as to snuggle. This is still his "sister" to this day, he carries her around, washes her and gets distressed if we throw her or touch her!
