I always thought the baby caps they put on them were to keep the head warm, but now I’m realizing it’s to hide the wonky head shape until it goes back to normal. Cute little potato looking babies!!

It's really to keep them warm. My husband changed the tuque for a baseball cap and the nurse kept changing it back. That lasted the first few days I was in the hospital... She got mad and told him it was to keep him warm. So he kept the cap for going home.

My son was born with a strange head and we all thought it was just from birth. Later we learned it was a skull defect and he had surgery to fix it at 6months old.
